Try a frodo raspbmc build, or an openelec gotham build.

Any chance that this will be fixed soon in Raspbmc / Gotham ?
yes. stay tuned

Good news :-)
How or where can I find the information that it's implemented ...
Hi everyone,
I have made 2 new builds tonight, one is included in this post below, the second one has enabled (and improved) DVD playback etc. but I don´t want to use my dropbox for that file… so if anyone have a good suggestion where one can host this (not in the US) let me know.

Updated Gotham build, from popcornmix´s newclock3 which was rebased from XBMC master on Nov 14.
Edit: It is recommended that you update firmware to latest from master, update process of firmware is explained in post #1.
To install test build, SSH to Pi and:
Code:
cd .upgrade
wget -O xbmc-13-20131116-newclock3.tar.gz http://goo.gl/FMlpXw --no-check-certificate
mkdir -p xbmc-13-20131116-newclock3
tar -xzf xbmc-13-20131116-newclock3.tar.gz -C xbmc-13-20131116-newclock3
Then in Raspbmc, go into "Raspbmc Settings/Nightly Build Configuration/Switch Between Versions of XBMC", and choose new build + restart XBMC.

I need popcornmix to confirm what firmware to use for different things, such as multichannel PCM (next?) etc.

Master firmware tree has latest, so that is recommended.
Thanks
hello guys can you explain how i can switch to the 720p gui ? raspbmc remove ui limit not working ?
Explained in this post.
I can't seem to install the pvr.wmc addon by switching to your Nov14 compile I lost the addon and neither the rasmbc or xbian versions can be installed. The error is dependencies not met?

You'll just need to wait until the addon is updated as latest Gotham builds now require addons to specify xbmc.python v2.1.0 not 2.0. You could try repackaging the addon yourself with xbmc.python bumped to 2.1.0 (it's in addon.xml) or remove the requires tag entirely from addon.xml.
Updated Gotham build, from popcornmix´s newclock3 which was rebased from XBMC master on Nov 18.
Some PR´s from bavison explained by popcornmix:
Quote:There are some new PRs by Ben Avison looking at reducing the idle cpu load in xbmc (specifically on pi).
Together they should reduce CPU load by about 7.5% on a non-overclocked pi.
https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/3674
https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/3676
https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/3677

This is most obvious when on a static screen, but it should always have some benefit (e.g. when playing video).

I've pulled the commits into newlock3 and they work for me. I'd be interested if you can see any benefit, and if there are any regressions.

More fixes has gone into XBMC master + some new patches from popcornmix (see newclock3 for everything).

Again, it is recommended that you update to latest firmware from master tree as explained in post #1.
To install, SSH to Pi and:
Code:
cd .upgrade
wget -O xbmc-13-20131118-newclock3.tar.gz http://goo.gl/AUFx3t --no-check-certificate
mkdir -p xbmc-13-20131118-newclock3
tar -xzf xbmc-13-20131118-newclock3.tar.gz -C xbmc-13-20131118-newclock3
Then in Raspbmc, go into "Raspbmc Settings/Nightly Build Configuration/Switch Between Versions of XBMC", and choose new build + restart XBMC.

@popcornmix
Working fine so far, CPU on idle is very low.
However, since my last couple of builds I cannot see these switches anymore.
Is this an issue or is it something in the Raspbmc patches (I do exclude the EGL patch / Raspbmc switch, so that is not it though).

Edit: Subtitle problems (probably something in master) explained here: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...pid1553589
This build of 18 November is running nice and fast. CPU is for 71-72% idle on standard skin @700mhz. Only thing I miss in the repository is the subtitle addon :-)
Hi Miappa,

I'm using your xbmc-13-20131118-newclock3 build right now. Everything is great (except subtitles ofcourse).

I only have one weird thing with later builds than august: when I pauze a AC3 (Dolby Digital) 5.1 mkv file, my audio receiver doesn't drop back to PCM like it used to on Frodo.
Instead it stays in Dolby Digital 5.1 mode and when resuming the video, the audio never returns, unless I turn the audio receiver off and on again.

The patch in this post from popcornmix solved it but introduced stuttering with DTS and such.

Could you look into it? and do you need any logging?

Kind Regards,

Gawain
@popcornmix
I see you updated newclock3 after I compiled this build, do you think those patches will have an affect on the subtitle problem?

@Gawain
I am only compiling test builds and I am not a developer, Popcornmix (or someone else) might be better suited to help you debug this. I do not actually use a receiver or passthrough myself.
There have been some changes, I can only suggest you to try different settings (such as stream silence perhaps), but debug logs is always helpful for anyone trying to help you.

@Marcel1982
71%? That is very high. I am getting less than 10% with this build.
@miappa: checked this morning again, still around 70% idle. i thought it was quite OK :-) I did not adjust anything except that i switched back to the stock confluence skin. I did a clean install (no USB) with october release from raspbmc and then i followed your instruction to switch to your latest build.
