I have a quick question tried to search for it but am not even sure what it would be under...

I have xbmc running and plays fine when i watch a movie i get full sound out of my receiver hdmi and get 5.1 ...

if i play a movie trailer it only comes out the HTPC speaker... and NOT through the 5.1 system Huh


Any ideas on how I fix it or what setting would actually be causing it ?

There are two settings for specifying the audio output device, these are:

1. Audio Output Device - used where XBMC decodes audio from audio types such as mp3, aac, & flac.

2. Passthrough Output Device - used when sending audio to a AVR for decoding for audio types such as Dolby Digital & DTS.

The trailers probably have aac audio so you need to make sure Audio Output Device is correctly set.
