Hello all.

I was wondering whether it would be able to be coded into XBMC a Direct X Video acceleration checker/switcher.

I know that with some encodes that are not encoded within the DXVA specification, that they are subject to artefacts or corruption when attempted to be played with the ''use dxva2'' option enabled.

I guess it would work like this. When video items are scraped into the library they would also be checked for DXVA compatibility (mediaInfo comes to mind) and DXVA decoding would then be either enabled or disabled automatically on a per file basis.

As it stands now I keep having to go in and manually change the setting depending on the video files DXVA compatibilty.

Barring that idea, being able to switch between using Direct X acceleration or software decoding without having to delve into the settings would be a bonus.( single key press)

Cheers
