I'm trying out my 3D videos and most of them are side by side. I have an LG 3D TV and everything looks normal when I start the 3D movie but when I hit the button on the remote to put it in 3D mode there are these darkish bars on the side of the picture. I never experienced this on my old WD player. Has this happened to anyone one else out there when watching a 3D movie? What's causing this? Anyone? Avatar plays in full screen in 3D when I play it on the WD player but XBMC does not play it in full screen in addition to these odd darkish bars on the sides.
Anyone?
Bueller?
Sounds like some kind of overscan/underscan issue. Check if this thread helps, http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=140344
Make sure your LG TV is set to just scan (Q.menu)
I just tried that and there no difference. I went into settings and changed from 16:9 to Just Scan.

A mystery to me. I have 2 LG 3d tvs both fed by ion2 gpus (linux of course) and do not get that problem.
I"m running Xmbc on a G-Box but that should not make any difference. I'm running the g-box to the sound receiver then to the tv. I have no idea why this is happening. As u it's a mystery to me.
Just as an experiment try going direct from gbox to tv.
I'm getting the same thing. I had the same hook up for my WDTV and it played everything flawlessly. Has anyone out there even had this issue with the dark bars on the sides?
