also note that gpu gems appears to cover v2 pixel shaders which aren't supported on xbox (but are supported on a pc with a dx9 capable card).
i love the dx9 stuff now, compared to the dx8 crop of programmable hardware it's so much less restrictive. as an addition, if you're *really really* interested in directx on the pc, you can get on the dx9 beta and get the 2004 summer update sdk, which has an early version of a neat tool for windows, similar to pix. great stuff Smile
