Full Version: Adding an SSH/SFTP media source

I'm running XBMC 12.3 on Mac OSX 10.9, and all of my movies are on an external hard drive mounted to my desktop running linux.

On my Mac XBMC I added an SSH source using the login/password to a linux user account that owns the share, and when I updated the library it found all of the media there and populated the library appropriately. The problem is that when I try to play anything, it times out and says that the media could not be played. Any idea what might be going wrong?

I suppose that can try a different form of file sharing, but since SFTP was in the list and I already had an SSH server set up I thought I'd give it a try.
I ended up removing it and just setting up NFS, which works splendidly. No idea why it was behaving that way; it wouldn't stream even if I logged in as root.
