Full Version: Temperature controlled fans

Hi,

I am trying to get my HTPC to be as quite as possible and was looking into controlling the speed of my fans automatically - I am currently using an Antec 2480 case which only has the option to use one of three pre-set speeds.

My case runs pretty cold so I was thinking of adding a couple of these:

They seem perfect as they run at the bare minimum speed and only increase in speed when needed (I decided not to go down the Speedfan route).

This was such a good idea that I am now looking at a similar thing for my other HTPC/Desktop - the problem is that it already has some Sharkoon Golfball fans in it and don't want to get rid of them. Does anyone know if there is a way to fit a variable speed temperature probe to an existing fan?

Just to clarify, it needs to increase the speed of the fan with the temperature (not just shut it on and off). Even better would be single temperature probe that you could connect to more than one fan.
