Full Version: XBMC not finding my MKVs properly

I'm setting up XBMC on my Win8.1 based HTPC for the first time and I've found several threads reporting similar issues, but none quite like mine. Apologies if this is already answered somewhere else - I just couldn't find it.

I have a folder with 40 movies, all in mkv format (ripped my bluray collection via MakeMKV & Handbrake). Each file is in its own folder and the folder is named: "movie_name (year)"

In XBMC, I go to Video/File/Add Video and indicate that these are movies. It seems to scan through the folder but when I go to this folder it's completely empty. If I navigate back to the Home Page, it says "Movies: 40 * Watched: 0 * Unwatched: 40" so it seems like XBMC found them... I just can't see them? Just for the sake of testing, I downloaded an episode of a TV show on torrent and added that folder as well (same steps as above, except indicating it's a TV show) and that file DOES show up and plays fine.

Any thoughts? Did I do something wrong while making the mkvs? They play fine on VLC.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions/help!!
Possibility you have set for watched when everything is unwatched? set to all videos.... any luck?

Define your scraper settings, type etc... but in theory it doesn't matter in file mode you should see some default folders in the source directory. To go further here, we need a full log with debug turned on and posted to http://xbmclogs.com/ and linked back to this thread. ala http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=42708

Thanks! I looked at the filters and "hide watched" was NOT selected. However, when I selected it and then re-selected it, all the movies showed up! Not sure what the deal was, but it's seems to be solved.
