I love my apple tv 2. But it doesnt do 1080P and while it works great and plays better then some boxes i played with i want to upgrade so i got an x7 to play with and a cx919.
Run great but i have found i dont have some of the same settings i have in xbmc on my apple tv 2
Such as zeroconfig which is what i have always used to put my video folder on my mac and my nas drive in xbmc. I tried SMB but it doesnt ever play anything even though i can see the videos. I dont show the computer under NFS which is the only way i could connect my NAS drive.

So what am i missing and how can i fix it?

Thanks
You are missing a debug log.
is there no zeroconfig on android to use?
you are confusing 'add source' with browsing/play video content.

'add source' just adds the path as a 'source', you only see directories here, never files. Once you add a source, then you can go into the music/video setting and see the source you added.
i know but i have never had to do any of this. i just go to zoconfig and it shows all things avail and i click on my folders i want and im done.
BUt now i dont see zeroconfig anywhere. And i try AFP here and it doesnt work it just crashes.

i never have had trouble with ATV2 or using open elec on an ATV1 and i dont know if xbmc for droid is diff in the way it connects.
No it appears that you can't use zeroconf on android, so you will have to use something else.
well afp is not working and neither is SMB so im not sure.
smb works on android, so maybe you are doing something else wrong. Your debug log doesn't show you accessing any smb content.

What is the contents of your sources.xml ?
what do you mean contents of sources.xml?
When you add a source (eg an smb share) then it gets added to a file called sources.xml. I want to see what is in it in order to help you.

Zeroconf for android was added some month ago in current mainline/gotham/alphas/nightlies ...
Thanks, my googling didn't reveal that.
Oh I'm using beyond Xbmc version because it doesn't have the stuttering or skip frames I was experiencing with Xbmc mainline for droid.

I found that the nightlies solved an audio issue I had on my Nexus 7. http://mirrors.xbmc.org/nightlies/android/arm/

Edit: you might want to try using NFS shares. In my opinion this is the best way to share files with XBMC. http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=NFS#NFS_sharing_from_OS_X
Nfs doesn't see my Mac
