Is saw that XBMC can do tagging for videos, and I've been looking for a video manager for my personal videos and archived funny videos (not for Movies, TV, etc...).
Is there a good way to do this in XBMC? I only see how you can do it one video at a time, and as I'm trying to arrange files this would take more time than I want to spend in this manner.
Specifically what I am looking for is the ability to tag videos, mass edit/create tags as well, backup the database, and have the redundancy if a file is moved so that I can either point the program to the right place or the program will search for the file in some manner.
so in summary, a way to manage my videos like you would manage your pictures in Picasa, gThumber, etc...
Anyone have some ideas? Thank you.
Like a media manager? http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Cat...y_managers

I don't use them much myself, so I don't have any specific recommendations.
Yeah, like a media manager. I looked through that link and I've either tried all of them or they don't have functionality for what I need.
I tried a new search and am testing a few new applications. I'll post back if I find anything good.
I recommend you MediaElch - multi platform media manager with advanced features.
An update: still haven't found anything that works as of yet, but I plan on buying and trying Sony's Vegas Pro Media Manager tonight or tomorrow.
He is a link or the name of things that I have tried but the list isn't complete as I just started making a list since posting on here:

I haven't played with Adobe's Project Manager, but Sony's Vegas Pro 12 Media Manager looks like the winner. I'll have to give it a try in Wine, because on the Wine HQ doesn't look like anyone has tried it in several releases.
I messed around with Adobe Bridge and it works for some video content but not all; it doesn't have the functionality to handle MKV, FLV, etc...
The winner is Vegas Pro 12! but I'll have to use it in Windows or a VM because I can't get it to open in WINE after installing.

The inspiring news is Pitivi might be making a full featured editor with a media library > http://fundraiser.pitivi.org/#plan
The bullet points they mention relating to my needs are:
Tagging clips in the media library
Ability to add metadata on media assets
Let people search content from many providers in the media library

My hope is that Pitivi can be my solution in Linux and Vegas in Windows...well, I believe better than that would be in the furture there became a lot more options that could work for my needs.
