Hi guys,
Does xbmc support external USB DAC on ubuntu? I've tried the newest stable, but there's no option in system settings.
Anyway to solve this? OR I need an fiber wire?
AFAIK it is up to the underlying operating system to support it. If alsa or pulseaudio can handle it then xbmc should handle it.

actually, Deadbeef(a music player) using ALSA works fine。。It's a driver-less device.
Later I'll post the detail settings in XBMC.
Fixed. Don't know why but next time xbmc starts and USB audio can be found.
I've been using an external USB DAC for sometime now with XBMC ... Arcam AVR 600 via HDMI and Musical Fidelity VDAC II via USB.

Just need to change the audio output each time I needed different output.

You should see the device listed in setting audio as an audio source .

If your using 12.2 then remove pulse audio and it should show up just fine
Nothing is driverless, but most USB audio devices are supported by stuff that is built into the kernel.
