If a stream buffers, XBMC seems to try to catch up with the live stream no matter what. This causes the picture to stop, the audio to jump on occasion, and this continues for a few seconds until it has caught up. This happens across numerous different plugins.

Why is this, and is there a way to stop it? If it happens to buffer a live stream, I don't mind if it remains a few seconds behind it. I'd prefer that it remains slightly behind and doesn't try to play catchup with the stream...

Can you name one add-on that you find this problem with? I use a few streaming add-ons and have found no problem so far, at least nothing that would be caused by XBMC.

Ntv is one. When it buffers it freezes the picture while it catches up with the stream, as if during the buffer it loses sync somehow. Happened plenty on sportsdevil as well when I used it. Only after it buffers though...
