I'm not sure this is possible, but I'm looking to play audio from XBMC in multiple rooms, preferably via wireless speakers. Basically I'd like to be able to play music from my media server anywhere in the house. Being able to choose which room to output to from Yatse would be fantastic.

Is anyone running a setup like this?
Better to use squeezeboxes and logitech media server.

How To: Easy synchronised multiroom audio (inc. Spotify!) using XSqueeze in XBMC

Looks like Squeezebox is discontinued...
There are software versions you can run on Pis, and various other hardware replacements e.g.

Yes its a great shame. However there are plenty of places to buy used ones. They are great machines. The server software is open source so it is still about and available.

You can also build a squeezebox from a raspberry pi and a hifiberry. Plug in a set of powered speakers and you're off.

Wow cool project Smile
Yeah. Also, ickStream is another effort that looks interesting - http://blog.ickstream.com/ (awful name!)

Basically LMS remains the most sophisticated network audio system in all. Particularly with a few plugins, it jsut does more and better, even now.

A real shame what logitech did. I'll buy Sonos over my dead body, but I am about to try out an Olive One for fun.

In the end, though, being a father now, I basically just play the odd album at low volume so my needs are pretty basic!!
