I've been trying to get this working for hours with no joy...

I have installed XBMC 12.3 on my Windows 8.1 laptop and am trying to configure the official XBMC remote control for Android

My XBMC Host info is as follows :
Name : Laptop
Host or IP address : 192.168.0.3
HTTP API port : 8082
Username : xbmc
Password : xbmc
EventServer port : 9777

If I enter 192.168.0.3:8082 directly in the browser I am asked to login and it all works as expected.

For some reason the remote app will never connect Sad Any ideas or tips on how to get it working?
DOH!

Was the Firewall...
I am having this same issue, getting the Socket TImeout on my Android Galaxy S4. XBMC is on my windows 7 pc. you state the issue was firewall...can you tell me exactly what you did to resolve this? Are you referring to my pc firewall or my Galaxy s4 firewall?
