Hello everyone,
recently I installed XBMCbuntu (xbmcbuntu-13~beta4_amd64.iso) on mini HTPC, https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/E2KM1IDELUXE/
With 2GB RAM memory.
I am having trouble with the Broadcom wireless adapter BCM43228.
I have installed wl driver and it seems to work.
I can see all present wireless networks in terminal. But I can see then in XBMC internet settings
Also I can see them for a moment in Ubuntu, but I can not connect to any of them, even after taping the right password.
The adapter or the driver is not stable, in Ubuntu I can't see the networks all the time.

Connection via cable works fine.

Any advice will be appreciate.

Best regards,
Encho
try:
sudo apt-get install broadcom-sta-common while connected via ethernet.
no, no effect...
ok, then no idea. Its a ubuntu issue in any case and not xbmc(buntu) specific
Broadcom... euck.. I regularly have trouble with broadcom under linux.

Try this thread
I have also had success with the ndis wrapper around the windows drivers.

At least you dont have Intel 6235 .. its even worse.

Usually these issues are solved by installing the firmware-linux packages (especially the nonfree one).
I just tried 12.04 live from an USB. Without installing Ubuntu.
I used wl driver and wifi started working at once.
So it may be not an Ubuntu issue after all.
I think something is missing from the full 14.04 installation to the XBMCbuntu.
Did you try to install the firmware packages I mentioned?
Negge, of course I tried, without any luck.
Have you checked /var/log/messages to see what happens when you plug in the adapter?
Negge, I''m sorry, may be my English is not good, but the wireless is integrated in MoBo. I don't use an adapter.

I see the wlan0 device. I think only the proper configuration for that network, e.g. essid etc. is missing. You need to configure it.
