even if I did that, the fact that it installs OE/Ubuntu for the dual boot setup would still potentially be confusing to some.

I had 8GB from another system and put them into my Chromebox but it's just a waste since it uses maybe 4% of Ram....

I wonder if there is any way to make it use more RAM?... Maybe it could help somehow...

You can put your Timeshift Buffer in RAM

Well only if your backend is running on the same system as your frontend.
can someone tell me how to completely remove openelec? I have a dualboot system on the google chromebox. I restored to factory defaults but it still boots into the screen where you download openelec. how to I get it back to factory defaults?

RTFW
what does RTFW mean?
Try reading the wiki bet it's there
I think he is suggesteding the answer lis within the chromebox wiki.
Yes, he would be suggesting this. Doesn't it mean Read The F....ine Wiki?

Edit: My mistake. Should be...

If people rtfw, then this thread wouldnt be full of idiotic questions. Kudos to Matt.
Hopefully I didn't miss this in the wiki, but I have a question. Fortunately I had a chromebox that is used sparingly enough I can test openelec on it before ordering another box. Got all setup last night after I bought a wired usb keyboard as my wireless logitech thwarted me the night before. There are only a couple of things left. Live TV which I'll work on tonight. Sometimes the up key won't open the slide out drawer on the left (Aeon Nox, showcase format). I need to probably tweak some things to get my Harmony Smart Control to work better via bluetooth (no number keys, pause button does nothing but play toggles, info button?).

For my question, is there a way to get the interface refresh rate to match the video refresh rate? I have the box setup so that when 24p content plays it automatically switch to that refresh rate for the projector and the same for 60p/i. But the projector blanks out each time (which is expected). So when refresh rate for the interface is set to 60 and I'm watching a 24p movie/show and it hit the back button for the interface to come up the projector blanks out and switches to 60p mode. Pretty annoying. :|
the UI refresh rate is set statically in the Video Output settings page. There's no way to make it adjust dynamically to my knowledge, but you can just set it to 24p if that's what the majority of your content is.
@drhill: sounds like you have change refresh rate set to always rather than on video start/stop. change it to the latter and it should fix your issue.

ah, forgot about that setting, good info
Thanks! Will try that later.
