I don't understand why you are booting the Kodibuntu USB installer, since you said it was already installed/running properly. Boot the box normally, exit Kodi, start a desktop session, and open a terminal window. Then download/run the EZ Setup Script just like you did in ChromeOS originally to flash the firmware the first time.
What are you smoking? Where in that page does it say that you use the Kodibuntu installer to modify the firmware on the Chromebox?

absolutely not, the easiest way is to simply reinstall OpenELEC via USB as I mentioned previously. You can also ssh in and just delete the contents of the storage partition and reboot ( rm -rf /storage/*; reboot)

So anyone install OpenELEC 5.95.5 (x86_64) on there Asus ChromeBox? I did and wifi turns off every time system is turned off or rebooted. Rolled back to OpenELEC 5.0.8 (x86_64) and works fine.
Anyone else have issues? Worked fine wired also but in my kids rooms that's not an option at this time.

sounds like an issue with your config somewhere, since a clean install here shows no such issue. The wifi link does take about 5-10s to come online after booting however

I have the delay set for 10 secs. It's show in the OpenELEC config app not ON. But downgrade and works fine.

Back up your config, do a hard reset, then see if you still have the issue on a fresh config.

since im not realy happy with the ps3 remote since im having some issues i am looking around for a good alternative.
I am looking at going for a mce ir reciever with remote or getting the pulse eight cec adapter.
It would be cool if i could boot the chromebox or turn it on with the remote. Is this possible with usb ir reciever? Or only via the cec adapter?

neither, only resume from suspend. I haven't been able to figure out the firmware bits necessary to allow power-on from cold off (S5).
hmmm im sort of regretting more and more going back to chromebox instead of getting an intel nuc...

Well, I gotta say I couldn't be more happy with my Chromebox running Kodibuntu with patched bluez and PS3 remote. Everything just keeps working. and working and workin....

I'd say you have an issue that I can't seem to replicate and isn't affecting the majority of Chromebox users; asking for the box not to resume isn't a special wish of any kind. Though given the miniscule amount of power drawn at idle, leaving the box on would be an easy workaround (and wouldn't prevent the PS3 remote itself from sleeping)
Nothing unworkable about suspend/resume. Unless I'm not understanding the issue? Remember, you can configure Kodi so that "powering off" instead puts it into suspend, which then lets you wake it up instantly by remote. Almost all modern CE equipment does not "power off" fully, it just enters a suspend mode whether you're aware of it or not.

Busta.rhymes is having an issue where his Chromebox involuntarily and randomly resumes from suspend when he has a PS3 Bluetooth remote paired. That shouldn't happen, nor is it an issue most Chromebox + PS3 remote users are experiencing.
