I'd really like to stop switching to VLC when I snuck into bed with my laptop at night.
Which audio settings?

Hi Memphiz. I'm going to double check when I get home tonight, but AFAIK it should be the default settings.
Could out of sync audio/video anyhow be related to the usage of a USB-headset?
Well first off i would turn off "sync playback to display" and see if this fixes the problem. Then go from there.
I had the problem before turning on "sync playback to display". (Turned it on to see if that would fix it.)

OK Playing without the USB headset plugged in and using the built-in speakers is flawless.
