Hi,

I am running the fernetmenta build, this issue started about 7-10 days ago -- meanwhile there have been 2-3 new releases but no change for this. Meanwhile I upgraded ubuntu from saucy to trusty, also no change. I think that it may have started after I tried to use podnapisi subtitles plugin and then deinstalled it, but not sure.

The issue is that, when I go to Videos->Files and click on "Set Content", xbmc crashes, sometimes producing a core file. xbmc debug logs at that time only:

Code:
11:38:17 T:140706072643520   DEBUG: Keyboard: scancode: 0x24, sym: 0x000d, unicode: 0x000d, modifier: 0x0

11:38:17 T:140706072643520   DEBUG: CSettingsManager: requested setting (exclude) was not found.

A crash happens also if, during video play, I bring up OSD and select Video Settings. Then the debug log is:

Code:
11:33:55 T:140015894747072   DEBUG: Keyboard: scancode: 0x24, sym: 0x000d, unicode: 0x000d, modifier: 0x0

Confirm it it also happens with Confluence skin.
If not see if this fixes it
4731 (PR)

if you can't compile wait until it's merged.
Known. Development goes on, this is currently an early ALPHA version. Should be fixed when: 4731 (PR) goes in.
I compiled xbmc with the patch and it stopped crashing on set/change content, but now when I use set content option, list of scrapers is empty.

I reverted back to stable, then unstable, then fernetmenta build, but nothing changes. No crash, but video scrapers are gone.

I am using Confluence skin, but I do have Spotimc add-on installed, could that possibly be the problem?

Thanks,

yes it could be an issue.
So I uninstalled spotimc, then reinstalled xbmc, but still no change. Any recommendations?

some more changes were merged into master branch so may take time before his branch gets updated.

full Debug Log will tell hopefully
Certainly, sorry for the delay. Here it is.

Check the entries after 20:39 timestamp. The error seems similar to earlier ones.

Code:
20:39:05 T:140412963833792   DEBUG: CSettingsManager: requested setting (exclude) was not found.

This is after I upgraded to latest fernetmenta build, but I'm getting the same behaviour in stable/unstable builds as well.

Code:
[vcs:~/.xbmc/temp]$ dpkg --list | grep xbmc
ii  xbmc                                                  2:14.0~git20140519.0501-a819d37-0trusty             all          XBMC Media Center (arch-independent data package)
ii  xbmc-bin                                              2:14.0~git20140519.0501-a819d37-0trusty             amd64        XBMC Media Center (binary data package)

Somehow it seems that my db is corrupt now, but I can't tell where.
bump. any takers?

Im getting the exact same problem. No Spotimc installed, just a fairly basic XBMC 14 (compiled today, 24th May) install.
crashlogs on pastebin.com please
Please refer to the thread above. My xbmc does not crash anymore, just video scrapers are gone.

While it was crashing, I posted the full crashlog in the thread.

I edited the title to reflect the issue at hand. Martijn, could you please take a look?
Nevermind, figured out the root cause. I had a skin.confluence subdirectory in ~/.xbmc/addons so that was used instead of the version in /usr/share/xbmc/addons. In my case copy was most likely created by spotimc plugin, but I guess there could be other reasons too. So somehow I ended up with a broken 720p/DialogContentSettings.xml, which was causing the problem. Note: even if you uninstall spotimc, ~/.xbmc/addons/skin.confluence does not go away, you have to remove it manually.

Problem disappears when you remove ~/.xbmc/addons/skin.confluence, or replace broken DialogContentSettings.xml with the copy from /usr/share/xbmc.
