I have just installed XBMC 13 and want to set up the shared SQL database. However I can't get it to work.

I have the SQL running on my Synology NAS with DSM 5. It's a MariaDB and the xbmc user has been created and granted all privileges. Also the Web Station is activeted.
When I start up XBMC it's just starts up rather rapitly and doesn't seem to even try connecting.
Can anyone help me figuring out what the issue is?
