Full Version: XBMC not finding TV shows on TVDB (or any other add on)

Hello, I'm new to the forums, and new to XBMC. I decided to try XBMC because I've always wanted a media center set up. I've successfully done some of the more rudimentary setups with other media servers, but I changed to XBMC because of how good it looks when it's properly setup.

So to get down to the meat of the problem, my issue is that I cannot get it to recognize all my TV shows.

I've been trying to get it to recognize Cowboy Bebob for hours. You'd think a show like this would be easily recognizable right?

The addon is TVDB, and after searching google for hours, I know the add on has the show, but for some reason it's not recognizing my files.

I've renamed my files numerous times

Currently they are named like this
E01 Asteroid Blues.mkv
E02 .. .. etc

And they are inside a simple folder named Cowboy Bebop

Also I do have Absolute Ordering enabled, since it's a single season show. I've even tried putting the date on the file to help it look for it.

Nothing has worked.

I've been looking for a simple way to manually attach the series id to tvdb, but I see no option in the GUI, and I'm not good enough to create a .nfo, and have no idea what to do now.

So Thats my situation, Cowboy bebop is one of the few series that isn't displaying genre, fanart, covers, plot synopsis, etc .

and it's really annoying -_-

Thanks in advance for any help, I'll be waiting for a response.

Oh and heres my debug log, It was pretty much gibberish to me, I hope it helps though

You need series and episode number like S01E01 not just E01.

This is so even though there seems to be only one season of that show.
I didn't mention this, but I tried that before doing E01, and it seemed to make no difference. I will try again and get back through
What is the full path to an episode, including the name, and starting at the source directory.
\\192.168.1.3\Videos\Anime\Cowboy Bebob (1998)

Is how it is in windows, I'm reinstalling xbmc right now

Now i'm having issues accessing my network drive, I'll get back when I can get this to function -_-
I like using "EP" for my anime episodes (or anything without a season). It's one of the default regex patterns and doesn't require a season number. However, this might not work if TVDB sees a long running series as having multiple seasons, as "EP" will always be assumed to be the first season. To get around that you'll need to use the modded AniDB scraper: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=142835
ok Network drive is back up, everything has been reinstalled

the path is smb://Networkdrive/Videos/Anime
Changing the name to "EP" didn't work.
Just to give you all a better picture, this is what it looks like

And this is how I add the source

Just checked this:

Change directory folder to: "Cowboy Bebop"

Change filenames to:
Cowboy Bebop s01e01
Cowboy Bebop s01e02
Cowboy Bebop s01e03
Cowboy Bebop s01e04

works fine.
