hey everybody,
i've been noticing a really irritating wavy ripple in many of the dvd movies i "stream" to my xbox over my samba share on my pc. it's most obvious during scenes of intensve motion and it's pretty distracting.

does anybody have an idea as to what the problem might be and if there's an easy fix?

thanks a ton.

ok, since a while the "interlaced" filter for dvds is defaulted to "none" instead of "auto". maybe this is responsible for the choppy playback.

while playing a dvd go to the player menu and select video-settings. now have a look at your "interlaced" settings. save as default and this gets saved.
interlaced artifacting is not choppy playback - the fps remains correct.

most dvds are progressive sources but an example of interlaced artifacting can be seen at:

well... this looks like wavy ripples? doesn't it?
