Artificial benchmarks are poor indicators of whether or not some piece of hardware makes for a good HTPC. HTPCs are much more about features -- will I get the video and audio (and whatever else) I desire from this machine -- more than raw performance numbers. There is also noise and power consumption to consider if a particular user cares.
