I hate Plex with a passion...
But at this moment, they are the best at what they do(capturing the user's imagination)...and that pisses me off...

hahahaha

Even if that was true (jesus, not even close), we don't care about the market. We're not a company. We're a group of likeminded individuals who work on software that we like to use, and we share it with other people as an added bonus. End of story.

Cheap smartTVs are hitting the market, some of them with built in apps, and given the fact that some of these alternatives require just a browser to work, how long until buying a set top box becomes redundant...?
I understand we have different opinions, but to deny self evident facts...? Look at the trends...

Set top box market is deadHuh what drugs are you on? The Apple has sold 20 million AppleTV's, Roku has sold about 10 million boxes, I wouldn't be surprised if Amazon FireTV's were flying off the shelves, and Google is finally getting serious about it with the launch of AndriodTV soon.

Smart TV's...ha...ha...it's the so called smart tv running proprietary OS and incompatible apps across different makes of TV that are dead if anything. Sure people initially liked the novelty of streaming services on their TV but the user experience soon left a bad taste, this why casting using WiDi from a laptop, Micracast from a phone/tablet and Apple's Airplay are all so popular, just look at the enormous success of Chromecast for example.

If anything the next big thing will be TV's running a proper OS such Android TV to give access to a large app ecosystem, and a decent spec SoC to give a smooth user experience. When TV's finally run a proper OS such as Android or Lunux then we'll be able to install a full fat Kodi onto it.

If the direction the Team wants to go comes to pass, in the future you'll be able to plug your phone or tablet into your home network and it will see your Kodi media library being shared, your media will then sync across to it, and then you can take your media anywhere with you.
Now that Microsoft Open Sourced .NET maybe it will be easier to merge Kodi/MB3...one can only hope...
and........ he returns to troll more.

You can't even quote Shakespeare without fucking it up.

Et tu, Brute! Then fall Caesar.

You spelled it wrong, and in particular missed the bit in italics.
