App - eventually worked but picture was terrible.
From reading through some of these posts would it be better to go through a browser rather than an app to improve picture quality. I'm using an mxq android box.
You are getting poor quality picture because you are not using the official APP, you are using an unofficial APK.
I have the official app though

The official NBC Live Extra APP will optimize stream quality in line with your internet connection. Example, I use the official NBC app for FireTV downloaded directly from Amazon store, the quality of the stream I get on my 6.5mbps internet speed is HQ. It's not poor, it's just a tad below full HD. I'm not sure if there is an official NBC Live Extra APP for devices other than a FireTV, I'm aware there is an unofficial APK floating around that is very buggy and has poor picture quality.
Fire tv will not be the only device that allows NBC. Few others have already stated that they get a great pic on the Shield and that's android

Thanks - that's useful to know. So I wonder what app a shield uses as that is android too. Anyway, may need to invest in a new box then if I can't get an app that does what you describe.

Yes, I agree. How can you get the official Amazon app but not the android app. So, if I get a firestick for example and get the NBC app for it, the picture quality will be near HD?
I'm struggling to understand why the restrictions are not the same regardless of the platform
think the addon is dead now on kodi ive tried all things and its says error check log for details ..
The url's for the json have gone.
The json is not just empty, its gone !
So until someone takes apart the official app to obtain the new url's this addon is dead.

Here you go all the information you need

watching ryder cup live so far with no problems and excellent picture quality
I know I have been guilty of this in the the past but I wouldn't advertise how you have got things to work as if the right people see this thread things can be shut down.
So has the dev abandoned this . that's a shame was working great. sigh, back to IPTV.
I don't think the dev has abandoned the addon, he just hasn't been online since the 1st September so probably is unaware it is broken.
I have no doubt once he gets up to speed with the situation it will be fixable as the streams are still out there it might just take a bit of work.
Either way if not the dev has put in a lot of great work over the last two years to keep this going.
So if nvidia shield and mxq boxes are both android, can anyone answer why the quality differs between the 2 for NBC streaming quality please?
