It appears that the addon is hardcoded to only get regular season playlists, so when it tries to get the playlist for today it's actually getting some game from October. But it doesn't matter for me, since none of the playoff games today are available online since they're on "national television" (USA Network is cable and NBCSN isn't available OTA in several major cities, I hardly see how those qualify as "national TV", this is ridiculous and probably the last season I purchase NHL Gamecenter)

I have version 0.8.2 of the other addon and get no games at all.

It might be because the games aren't available online in the USA.

I had a similar problem happen to me when I tried to watch the All Star Game. It randomly pulled some old game from the schedule. The games aren't blacked out in Canada, but I can't use the add on to play them! Hopefully timewasted finds some time to squash this bug soon.

This is correct! I even had the following note in the code:
Code:
# FIXME: self.REGSEASON shouldn't be hardcoded.
For a quick fix, open the following file:
Code:
resources/lib/nhlgc.py
On line 384, replace REGSEASON with POSTSEASON.
I'll push out an update before the first game tomorrow (Thursday). Ideally the code would be smart enough to pick the correct "season" all on its own so that this doesn't happen again. I really don't want to add a configuration option to select pre/regular/post season. So, the update that I push out will likely just change the hardcoded REGSEASON to a hardcoded POSTSEASON. It'll be a hack, but at least it'll work until I come up with something better.
Edit: I see that the games do show as blacked out, but they play fine for me regardless.

Thanks
I just pushed out a new version which appears to fix the playoff issues. I'll keep an eye on it (and this thread) in-case more issues crop up. It doesn't look like I can do anything about the games showing up as blacked out despite actually being able to watch them.
Edit: another new version will be coming out shortly to fix more issues that I missed.
Edit: v0.0.25 is out. It fixes a script error that I introduced by my previous fix. Unfortunately, it also allowed me to see exactly what this blackout issue is. I was able to watch live games just fine, despite them being listed as blacked out. When I tried to watch the non-live full stream of the game though, I saw that it was indeed blacked out. Short of using a non-US proxy, there's nothing I can do to fix this.
Thanks for all your hard work
timewasted, but 0.0.25 isn't working for me. I'm seeing a non 200 403 response when attempting to open the Pens@NYR game. This is happening on 2 different machines - one has Kodi 14.2, the other still has Gotham, both are running linux.

All works great here. Thanks for the fix!
Has anyone found any solution to the buffering issues? I will start a game and get 5 to 10 minutes of perfect HD streaming, following by constant buffering, some playback, and more buffering. I am hard wired into a very good connection and use all types of streaming services without issue. Streaming in browser works fine as well.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
I'm unable to watch live games although I can watch archived games. I'm on win7 kodi 14.2. This probably doesn't make a difference but I am able to watch games through a browser from the main GC site. Also, the other GC add on doesn't work for live games either. Here's a pastebin of my log when errors show up.

EDIT: I think I figured out my problem. I had changed my hosts file to see if another add on would work. I commented out that line and I think I'm good to go. I have the wpg/ana game on now anyway.
timewasted, thank you very much for all your work on this. It has made Gamecenter a pleasure to watch, by contrast with the horrendous web feeds that I tried. The addon is the reason that I kept the package. I have updated to .25 and it's working fine--tonight I tried a nonlive feed and it worked. Thanks again!

Buffering is always 100% internet related and not the addon. Try another network cable and make sure it is a cat6 cable as well.
nyi22: are you running anything else in the background? If I'm downloading linux distros while trying to watch streams it buffers a lot. Another idea would be to increase your advancedsettings.xml cache.

Anyone else having the problem that the 5000kbps stream(s) are not working? After selecting it in the bitrate menu, nothing happens for a few seconds. After that, the bitrate menu pops up again but without the 5000kbps option.
