FYI: Noticed some minor issues, which I already fixed in my fork.
- VideoOSDBoomarks (incompleted focuslayout with wrong animation conditions)
- Weather widget width is too long and the last column has ~20px cut off
- Increased max button width with +20px for the %GENRE% Information button. (DE strings issues)

I would create a PR, if I had not changed even more for my personal needs.

Using the 2.3.0 version from github is it normal to be stuck at a message saying updating widgets for a long time?

Yes, because all the widgets are going to be filled/preloaded first. This can take some time and depends on how huge your library is, how many widgets u have configured and how fast your device can fetch that informations.

That's not right, I'll add an option to press back to override the loading in case of problems.

And fyi: Your new DialogContentSettings.xml seems to be broken. (content provider/scraper buttons are empty and dialog background height is too small which cause an overlapping glitch with the headline on the first button)

Not sure what's wrong with the weather though as the width is enough for the number of items on the home and weather window.
Which button is that exactly?

You need to be running master as that dialog's been changed.

I'm confused with how to set up new widgets everything it try I end up back at the updating widgets and can't find the back button to cancel out... help!

Did you merged my complete preload system without any changes (except the loading splash)? Clearing the fadeoutdelay property isn't enough and won't focus the main menu.
I tested it successfully by adding "<onclick>SetFocus(90004)</onclick>" and "<onback>SetFocus(90004)</onback>" to 90000 and 90003.

My previous suggestion won't work for some reasons. Kodi gets unstable on my side ^^

Ah you mean Kodi K*** ^^ That's why the dialog won't work in Jarvis. My fault. Sorry.
