Seems not... revisions to table coming. RPi2 does work well, but it's very build dependent. Wish nVidia would add MVC support to Shield TV as it would likely be the killer do-it-all Kodi player.
Tempted to re-buy M8R just for 3D playback only ; use Chromebox for everything else. If I can't get my Pi2 stable, may just do this... or, I need to return to my last good build that only supported MVC MKV's.
couto27, still have your M8R?

Oh yes..gone keep it until the hardware fails.
The latest Med8er firmware + Synology updates improved the streaming, now it does 120Mbps.
Only the 800x3d and 600x3d are available the 1000x3d was discontinued..

Hmm, tempting indeed. I can't get a stable Pi2 build with ISO support; pre-ISO MVC MKV only build I have on a 2nd Pi works fine. With HiMedia, just watched ‘The Avengers 2’. Noticeable micro-stutters, but no audio dropouts. So, went back and re-watched about half of ‘Terminator Genisys’ (T5) and no audio dropouts this time. Just weird as last night I have several drop-outs. Another user I'm e-mailing with said for watching T5...
Quote:,,,had micro stutters throughout and during one section had large stutters/frame drops almost like it couldn’t read the data from the network share fast enough. The strange thing is I have never seen that before so I’m not sure if it was a problem reading the data fast enough or handling this particular iso. I paused the playback hoping it would be able to buffer and catch up and after that I didn’t have any more of the large stutters. Audio remained in sync throughout.

All I ask for is a 3D player that can use Kodi for front-end, and works w/o issues with HD audio and movies (23.976). Why is this so hard to do?! Mede8er did it perfectly, but doesn't support Kodi. RPi2 does it with some builds, others not (latest builds crash soon after ISO playback starts). And, Pi2 has some builds where UI blanks out (no signal) after movie playback is stopped. Aaarg!
Which Rpi2 build works best with 3D isos?
2015-10-12, 02:52
None of them, up to today's #1011. Build with just MVC prior to #0916 that worked fine.
2015-10-12, 11:45
Yes, I hve tested #1011 and still get only a few 3D isos to work. Hopefully this will improve...

All 3D ISO's work for me... problem is display blanking out every time after any 2nd video is played. Trying to resolve with devs here.
Update: Temporary fix found.

Has anybody probed plex on this box?
2015-10-16, 08:42
What about passthrought sound? Has it got dropcuts?
2015-10-16, 14:24
Yes, random audio dropouts with latest firmware and one before that.

Firmwares v1.0.9.1 and v3.0.1.1 yield exactly the same results:The issue is H.264 23.976 playing at 24.00. Odd, as VC-1 23.976 plays properly at 23.97. I don't have MPEG2 23.976 to try.
- 29.97 displays at 60.00
- 59.94 displays at 60.00
- 59.97 displays at 60.00
- VC-1 23.976 displays at proper 23.97 (Tested '3:10 to Yuma'; LPCM 7.1 passes properly to AVR, unlike Zidoo X6 passing 2.0)
- H.264 23.976 (majority of BD rips) displays at 24.00 (not ideal, but I've never noticed microstutters or frame drops every 40-some seconds with Q5)
- VC-1 29.97 displays at 60.00; stutters, with frame drops & has deinterlacing artifacts (jaggies)
- MPEG2 1080i displays at 60.00; plays excellent
- MPEG2 720p displays at 60.00; plays excellent
For VC-1 29.97 (1080i), only box that plays this type well for me is Chromebox.
with firmware 1.0.9 film at 1080p@23,976 -> display 23,97Hz as tested other user , do you can try?

I tried going back to firmware v1.0.9 earlier and had trouble with my Q5 not rebooting (just stuck on HiMedia logo). Will try again.
Anyway, some good news. All 23.976 2D does play back in proper 2D with latest v3.0.1.1 firmware. Earlier, had my Q5 connected to Onkyo NR636 AVR, to projector, and the Onkyo was the problem. Bad Onkyo and improper HDMI EDID passing, even when set to 'through' w/o any video processing. This was what was causing all my Kodi UI blanking out issues with Raspberry Pi2. Had thought it was the Pi at fault for months; never suspected my AVR. Have a new (Denon) AVR on the way.
However, even with Q5 connected directly to projector, all 23.976 3D is being played at 24.000. And, this is what's causing the microstutters and slight speed-up issues. You don't see any such issues with 2D.

so now with 3.0.1.1:
2D:
23.976 displays at 23.976
29.97 displays at 60.00
59.94 displays at 60.00
59.97 displays at 60.00
..
without problem: no stutter not issues no drop audio.
I never have problem ,but for 2 week i am out for work and i don't have a projector for hz test.
For me Q5 is always A quality.
3D 23.976 displays at 24 with some issues
last film i have watched 'madmax' , i have only 1 drop audio 1 second.
2D:
23.976 displays at 23.976
29.97 displays at 60.00
59.94 displays at 60.00

Only tested 23.976 2D and 3D. Will try firmware v1.0.9 (if it'll load) & report back.
