Full Version: Update libdvdread and libdvdnav?

I have found a number of DVDs which do not play well in XBMC 13.2. In some cases, the DVD menu is not responsive. The same DVDs play fine in Totem + GStreamer on Linux. I have noticed that the versions of libdvdread and libdvdnav which XBMC includes are old. Is there any plan to update these libraries? What about making it easier to build against system libraries instead of those included in the XBMC codebase?
Internal copy is too patched (for reasonable reasons) for reliable system lib support.
You can find a log of XBMC interacting with one of the troublesome DVDs at:

http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=337552

Some additional details:

Linux distribution: Fedora 20
Architecture: Linux imp.flyn.org 3.16.6-203.fc20.x86_64 #1 SMP Sat Oct 25 12:44:32 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Install method: RPM (RPM Fusion repository)

If I let XBMC sit for around 60 seconds, then the DVD eventually starts responding.

An example of a troublesome DVD is "Scooby Doo's Original Mysteries". I would be happy to mail this DVD to a developer if this would help identify what is causing this issue.
It wont matter 13.2 will not get any fixes anymore. Try nightly kodi libdvd is newer there? https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/tree/master/lib/libdvd
