I've just got my new Amazon FireTV (no-rooted German version, 51.1.4.0_user_514006420) and have installed the latest Kodi Helix beta .
Alas, any playback I'd like to do over my NAS where I store all my videos lead to the same behaviour: as soon as I want to play any of the videos, Kodi is crashing on me[/code]

Same video over SPMC is working fine.
Any ideas?

Kodi Beta 2 crashes when i play any file (SMB)

Something happened between Beta 1 and Beta 2. Crashing for me as well with a brand new fresh install on Fire TV.

crashing on playback for me too. just tested kodi-20141110-2e41dde-master-armeabi-v7a and the issue remains.

Koying. How would you start a test build, as I to am having the same problem of when trying to play any video the app crashes.

DL now, and will try to update the thread tonight.

Before I wasn't able to play any video without it crashing, and now it's not crashing at all after a number of videos. Seems to be fixed :D

Same here. I have only played two videos, but so far so good.

Got it – The newest working version is:

kodi-20141103-d6947be-master-armeabi-v7a.apk from Mon, 03 Nov 2014 19:24:49 GMT

I can confirm, that this has fixed the issues reported.

Should be in nightlies from now on.
