Hey guys,

I am trying to connect my external HDD to the FireTV, XBMC is already running fine but it's wothless without content ;-). Since my FireTV is not rooted and cannot be rooted because of its software version I would like to know if there is ANY way to mount my external HDDs or not?

Actually, there are. Some methods are quite cheap, too. Pretty much any network device with a USB port that is OpenWRT compatible is a good bet and can be had for around $20. Basically gives you wired and wireless access to a USB drive. Very easy to set up, and the OpenWRT software is very well supported with a strong community.
