One time my menu letters were every other color. Talk about writing a sentence.

I can make a short video, if you need.

Would that not be solved by selecting different options in the Artist Slideshow settings?

First post so gotta say that if you use banned add-ons (wiki) I can't help or support that kind of stuff but if you are not check the Add-on:Artwork_Downloader (wiki).

Yes these are enabled in the Settings. I have added the Universal Movie Scraper to my Movie Information. After pressing the info button I can see the names of the actors but their photos are still not visible. All I see are the names of the actors with images of a white mask. The photos only become visible when the extended info scrip is opened.

If it does not work for you I do not know what to tell you but if you enabled it after adding your library it will not make a difference.

I am a novice in this area but here goes. At the present time while viewing detailed info about the actor in the extended info script, I add one of his movies to a folder titled say 'Movies to Watch'. This is then visible when I open the script in the Program Addons. Maybe the widget could be structured in the skin, say like 'Watch Later' as given in Youtube also. The display could be like:

Name of Movie (with thumbnail)
Genre

If I click on the movie it would open the extended info script (showing plot and cast info) as is currently.

Thereafter I would need to open an addon to see the movie.

You misunderstand... I was not asking for advice on how to display the info I was asking how do you expect me to display that info?? You want to include stuff that is not available to the skin so...

App backup? Not sure what that is but to save the settings copy guisettings.xml for Isengard or settings.xml in the skin.aeon.nox.silvo folder in the addon_data directory for Jarvis and also the script.skinshortcuts folder in the addon-data directory if you are using the GitHub versions of the skin.

Both of these posts are things that have been mentioned in less than reputable sources (I am a master of the Google) so it is a shame that this is the first time it has been mentioned on the Kodi forums

I just posted a new branch using skin.helper so I could drop support for skin.info.service and script.grab.fanart. If anybody is willing to install and check it out for any missed calls please remove those two scripts prior to testing and install the latest script.skin.helper from its GitHub page so you can let me know of any missing functionality.

Mike,

QNAP has finally upgraded Kodi on my NAS to Isengard so I can upgrade to Isengard version of the skin.

I pulled the latest Isengard Branch from your github.

First of all I thought you we're intergrating Mr V Widgets as default?

Also for some reason I can't get any of the Tv Show Widgets to show anything. If i pick something like recently added episodes, nothing shows up. Something else like recently added albums does though. Any suggestions?

Jarvis? But I Have 15.2 (Isengart). I allready tried to copy these folders and xml. It doeas work with jarvis but not on isengart. I had to customize the main menu tabs every time.

Isengard or jarvis??

I tried Kodi-Jarvis with the Isengard-github version of Aeon Nox SiLVO on OpenElec. But the VDR-plugin didn't work so I went back to Isengard (OE 6.0). Now I miss the option to "always show the submenu". Where is it? I searched every Menu-option in AN-Silvo :~

Thanks for the answer on the home menu. Still have one more question though. On the current build of the Isengard branch I cannot access information for TV shows when in a smart playlist. In the normal library view I can access it just fine.

Looking at the logs there are no errors, however there is a difference in what is produced by the log between the two scenarios. In the normal library view, the following gets added to the log

However when I go to view the info in a smart playlist, nothing is added to the log. This is only true for TV shows and not movies.

I never said I would add Mr. V Widgets as default to Isengard... I'll get back to you on the missing widgets.

Edit: Should be fixed now.

I mentioned how to do it for both Isengard and Jarvis cause I do not like repeating myself and others read what I post.

Its there as an option under Home window... Not available for the vertical menu for obvious reasons.

I just made a smart playlist to test and I have no issues so maybe there is an error in your playlist

About smartplaylist there is definitely a problem when using path rules (nfs/smb). I will post on skin shortcut thread.

Yep, I'm using path rules to split between different folders on my NAS. E.g. splitting cartoons and TV shows from each other in the library

Ah apologies Mike, I thought I read somewhere that Mr V Widgets would become the standard widget engine for Aeon Nox. Must have mis-read it.

I'm using Mr V Widgets so thats now showing recent episodes.

If you are talking about the menu being reset and your backgrounds and menu items have returned to the skins defaults then that is normal and cannot be helped. If you are experiencing an issue where you cannot alter the main menu then with Kodi not running try deleting the script.skinshortcuts folder in your addon_data directory and deleting the script-skinshortcuts-includes.xml file in the skins 1080i folder and restarting Kodi.

No its just that i get a blackscreen on the menu. Apparently it works on alpha 2 of jarvis but with alpha 3 and 4 i just get a blackscreen instead of a menu.

Unfortunately not. I can only select "Transparent-BG if there is not Artist-Fanart" in the Artist-Slideshow settings.
Here are two screenshots to make it more clear:

As you see, there is a Fanart displayed. It is the Fanart for this Sampler in the Sampler-dir, not in the Artist-Slideshow-dir.
All is correct here

if no Artist-Fanart is found from the script, transparent BG as mentioned, -> black background, because there is no Fanart at all, even there is one for the sampler (see above)

If a Artist-Fanart is found online or in the Artist-Slideshow folder, then it is shown <- no screenshot

This was because I asked to improve the Artist-Slideshow "control-type" in the skin
put the existing fanart.jpg in the bg-layer, and in the layer above the Artist-Slideshow-image. Then the existing Fanart is shown, if no Artist-fanart is found online, becaue the "image" from Artist-slideshow is transparent.
Hopefully it is more clear now
