If it's NOT offscreen, then how to get it back depends on the version of Nox 5 Silvo you're running - Isengard and earlier, the skin shortcuts scripts only manages the submenu, so the main menu settings are contained in the guisettings.xml file - deleting that whilst Kodi isn't running will reset the skin (including the main menu) to default (or add what I'm about to say to one of the submenus - x[number].DATA.xml files). Jarvis and later, the skin shortcuts script now manages the whole menu, so if you've removed the settings menu either delete the contents of userdata (wiki)/addon_data/script.skinshortcut (this will reset your menu to default) or if you want to try to re-add the settings shortcuts add the following to mainmenu.DATA.xml:-
Code:
<!-- settings tile -->
<shortcut>
<label>$LOCALIZE[10004]</label>
<label2 />
<icon />
<thumb />
<action>ActivateWindow(Settings)</action>
</shortcut>
Am on Isengard. Changed the .Xml file as suggested (ever tried file editing using ES file Explorer via a firestick remote?... very challenging ?) which indeed added the Settings menu to one of the active menus. Went in to the skin settings and my original 'Settings' menu had been disabled (hence why I couldn't see it!). Not sure how that happened - may have been me in error. Anyway all is good now. Have left the additional 'Settings' submenu in case it happens again (lesson learnt).
Many thanks for your help. Much appreciated.

Hi. I modified the script.skin shortcuts add-on xml that I had backed from version 0.4.X So it would read 0.5.7 and installed it. It stopped the debugging from popping up, and then eventually updated to v0.6.0 and I am still no longer getting any problems from skin shortcuts. This was when v0.6.0 was not yet released and 0.5.7 was the latest version.
I am not sure if this actually doing anything or if I will have to redo all shortcuts like you said in the first post. But it did make the skin shortcut error that says it can't build a menu from coming up on 15.2 on AMazon Fire TV.
Here is a copy of the skin shortcuts I used.

I just use the Aeon Nox Silvio cause ots awesome. Now I have a problem to solve. I customize the main menu and want to save it sothat i can restore the menue and the skin settings on my second android box with kodi 15.2.
I already tried it with the app "backup" but it does not adopt the settings. Any ideas?
Thx for helping.
App backup? Not sure what that is but to save the settings copy guisettings.xml for Isengard or settings.xml in the skin.aeon.nox.silvo folder in the addon_data directory for Jarvis and also the script.skinshortcuts folder in the addon-data directory if you are using the GitHub versions of the skin.
Jarvis? But I Have 15.2 (Isengart). I allready tried to copy these folders and xml. It doeas work with jarvis but not on isengart. I had to customize the main menu tabs every time.
Try the usb-sdcard wizard by xunity. I did a full backup and it replicated everything in isengard 15.2 on a FireTV.

I'm glad you found your missing Settings item. I've had various items enabled and disabled on me before, but never had one hide the Settings item. I've gotten in the habit of going through all items and checking that before leaving the menu setup area. You were just lucky I guess.
I really don't think the skin's programming did that to you, though, or it would be happening to all of us. At least now you know you can have more than 7 items on your menu.
Hi Mike,
I have been in this forum only for couple three times. I currently have Download 5.7.4-2.0.7 (Isengard) Updated September 23rd
Changelog zip file.
Seems like this very old. I am using Kodi 5.1 and would like to use your latest version of Aeon Nox. Where do I get it from? Can you please provide me the source where I can download it?
Thank you.
Bill
p.s. I am doing a build and need this skin soon.
No problem - thanks BobCratchett

I have no issues on any of the Jarvis builds including the latest nightlies. Post a debug log (wiki) and I'll take a look.

Hi there,
i have three questions:
1. When do you want to update the skin in the repo? today, cause today is the 23rd
? i would be really pleased
2. would it be possible, to implement a new view for the pvr (channels) ? like the one in the appendix...? there could be the list of all channels, and next to it on the right a summary of the next shows of the selected channel... it already implemented in dvb viewer and in my opinion this is an really fantastic view... look at it, maybe you will agree
3. also for pvr: would it be possible, to separate the up/down key to channel switching? here the background: it would be nixe when i´m looking tv, i could look at the next programs of other channels by pressing up/down to get the actual/next shows from the channel next/previous... with "ok" i could say "channel change"... so i could zap with up/down through the next shows of my tv channesl without switching the channel itself... and when i press channel "channel +/-", it directly switches the channel... it´s also a thing that is already implemented in dvbviewer and it´s really good and very useful!
so, many thanks!!

However, also wanted to make it clear that I and others do keep half an eye out for user suggestions to improve the usability of the script - and I'm personally going to make an effort to make changes to the script to make it more user-friendly in the future (not to the next repo-version of the script, which will primarily be a code-cleanup release, but in the release after that.)
Can I be honest in that I will have to have a giggle if the settings menu item is simply off-screen as pagali suggests. I apologise in advance for that.

I would have also had a giggle if it was just offscreen
, just to let you know Sir Mr. BobCratchett I decided to backport the skinshortcuts update to Isengard. Hopefully not a mistake, but time will tell
Please don't apologize about the sirrah stuff it was only in jest I mentioned it in the first place

Like this exemple.
Thanks.
I have been thinking about adding an alternate version for displaying the fullscreen info and I will keep this in mind when I start but it will not look the same as Confluence

I think to avoid this I should figure out a permanent place for a skin settings button that is not tied to the home menu so it cannot be deleted by accident...

When I see the word build... it sets off red flags since that term is usually used to provide a premade install that includes many
banned add-ons (wiki) or helps facilitate piracy

Nothing pops out at me in the log but try to append your
userdata (wiki) folder with.old and reinstall Kodi with nothing else besides the skin and its dependencies, since I see things that are known to cause issues installed on your system. Check the
troubleshooting (wiki) for more info.

here the screenshot for question 2:
1) I already pushed the update
2) No plans to touch the PVR section, I am using the great Maniac mod so if he changes it in Nox 5 upstream or wants to PR me any additions I will add those but I do not use PVR so it is something that I am unlikely to mess with other than any noticed bugs.
3) Even though it is PVR related since it seems reasonable I will look into it and see if I can find a way to test/add it but since I can only use the PVR demo client I cannot promise anything...

1) thank you very much. i will test it today evening
2) ok, ive asked same question in the nox thread, maybe maniac will do something...
3) also, ive asked in nox thread, too... but would be awesome, if you could do something like this
and at last: thank you very much for your nice skin!
3) It is possible in Jarvis:
--> Select "OK" to switch channels (in the Live-TV section)
with Up/Down you can look whats actually on other channels and if you find something then hit "OK" and switch to that channel
ah, ok, now i know where you answered
ok, thats really nice, but what can i do if i want do direct switch channels? do i have to edit keyboard.xml for channel switching direct? and if yes, whats the command for directly channel-switchting without pressing "ok" ??
Hi, in cant start Music-Addons in Nox, in Confluence Skin the Music-Addons starts.
Can someone confirm that?
i dont see the option for vertical menu
Update - I fixed the problem.
