you are missing skin helper i believe

Ok, then what? I installed the missing skin helper (http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=235676) then restarted Kodi and nothing changed. I still have the save dialogue showing that I had before. I thought that I would have to edit script-ExtendedInfo Script-DialogVideoInfo file to add the info to the skin. But I neter know if I'm supporsed to do it or how to do it.

Here is a screenshot of my dialogue after adding the skinhelper.

Thanks, I had that setting already disabled. Still no joy.

Does anyone know some musical geniuses...? Whilst I can take a guess at the reason for the issues being experienced, and as is the case with most of the posts I end up responding to, to be sure I need to see a debug log (wiki) - and, frankly, I'm sick of just asking for one Smile

What I'd love to do is turn debug log requests into a rick-roll-ing type of thing, where those of us who regularly need one can link to a humorous video rather than make what becomes an incredibly-tedious request.

I probably should of asked what version of the skin are you running. As far as I can see in the code, only the Jarvis version of the skin has support for the extra info.

Tee-Hee!

That's probably it. I might attempt a Jarvis install later tonight. I forgot is there much legwork (menu building or the like) in transitioning from Issy to Jarvis?

If he has, it may be a shame for the few people that use that resolution, but from a skinning maintenance perspective it would make a lot of sense.
21:9 was removed because it is no different than the one in OG Nox 5. There is no need to have the same just for that resolution when they should be using the default skin for that. Maybe one day if I get a 21:9 screen I can start adding stuff to that but alas Santa was cheap this year Sad

Jarvis and Master have a few things not added to Isengard...

Just testing out skin.helper to see if it causes any issues for people before I start utilizing it throughout the skin more.

LOL Smile I like the idea. Sounds like a bad Rick Asley Song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ

The biggest headache of all I am finding is not so much debug logs, but what version of skin a person is running and are they running the correct version of kodi for that skin. (there is a big difference in the code between them). A lot of the issues are also caused by people downloading from GitHub and over writing there directory. Leave all kinds of old skin code in there and messing up there install.

But a debug log would help identify these issues.

Over the past few day I have spent more time on the forums than actually fixing issues.

schimi I will try to clean up my PM's folder Cool Wink

A bad Rik Astley song was the whole point. Someone directly referencing that negates the entire comedic effort, so never mind, eh Wink

I wish I could say I might be tipsy, but frankly I know how much I've already drunk - and how much I will in the next couple of hours - and tipsy just isn't an appropriate phrase in any sense Wink Congrats again on the birth of Mini Silvo Smile And seriously, we'll respect you more if you ignore Kodi skinning issues - and the comments of those of use enjoying the alcoholic effects of New Year in the next few hours than if you actually address any issues Wink Conrats again on fatherhood, and please do take the time to enjoy it!
Thanks Bob, but I take no responsibility whatsoever in negating the comedic effort Wink

But if people don't post logs I think THIS could become the new standard response.

Just downloaded the latest GIT and at least on my computer the plot is not showing. I also noticed that the flag icons are in different order, in the image you have bluray and then 1080p, dialog video info is 1080p and then bluray.

Plot does show here but doesn't scroll.

I going to take a guess you mean tagline? (in blue)

Pushed an update for the scroll fix and changed the order of the flags.

For the missing tag line. I'm not sure what the issue is. I cant find any coding issues. The information for both those values are taken from the same variable. So there shouldn't be any difference.

Is it only the one widget type or all of them?

I can see that you changed the order of the flags and the plot scrolling, but having issues with the movie title:

I figured out the issue on this one:

Basically if the tag is too long it doesn't show up on the info screen of the widget. If you look at the tag before showing info it shows that there is more content, but it doesn't scroll.
@Edworld

Just realized what the issue is. Without checking the code, i think it is how I pass the information to the info dialog.

To confirm, i would assume it is only an issue with titles and taglines with a ',' in the label.

Can you please check?

I had the same issue with the plot previously. Instead of $INFO for the label I had to use $ESCINFO. But the down side is it shows " on either side. Will have to see what I can come up with.
Mr. V

I would agree it is the "comma" causing the issue.

I also noticed that the movie title on the poster doesn't scroll

For the scrolling I will add that to the code in the coming days.

Some more thought on the 'comma' issue though is needed. It is no issue getting the label to show with a comma, but I don't like the " when i use $ESCINFO. Not sure what I can do about it ATM but I will see what I can come up with.

Thanks for the bug report.
