But legitimate question Mike. I have a few videos of my sons graduation. I'm very fussy about losing these videos, or people accidentally deleting them from within the skin. I have backed them up on another drive, but was wondering if there are plans for the ability to password lock certain menus or items. Is that possible around these skins?
To delete stuff through Kodi you need to activate the Allow renaming and deletion setting in Appearance > File lists so you could leave that off but if you use it regularly then... Not 100% on this, but you might be able to use profiles and block other users from activating that setting and deleting things.
I do not have plans to add it but this might help:

Cheers Mike. The little lad loves youtube, but with it being school, I would have liked to have had the option to either block during specific times, or have a Passover lock ie like a parental control.
Let me Check that link quick
I have just installed Jarvis RC and the corresponding skin from Github and am just tweaking the home menus but for some reason it will not let me select an image from my pc to use as a background. Also the main menu doesn't scroll as smooth as it did on Isengaard but this could be a RC thing ?

Agree with @Warner306 and @Solo0815,
I love how the posters look like really expensive personalized greeting cards
To the toolbox script error... You can try disabling the blur in Skin settings > Video info but if that does not work. Can you post a debug log (wiki) so I can take a look?
You need to change the settings level from Basic to something higher either in the sidemenu for the GitHub version or the bottom choice shown after selecting System in Kodi's settings to see the Debug option and be able to enable it.
Hi Mike, thanks for getting back to me and for the compliment! I've been having loads of fun working on my family video library and am currently doing a section called "nostalgia," where I'm setting up old family movies (some really, really old of my great-grandparents, etc.). It's a fabulous way to not only preserve a copy of basically priceless videos (to me at least), but also to easily access them. It takes a bit of work, but it's really a great hobby.
I don't have the blur setting, but using your suggestion, I turned off most options just to test, and I still received the toolbox script error when I launched a video.
Also, I have chosen the "expert" level and still no Debug option shows up. I tried a complete fresh reinstall, even deleting Kodi completely and sideloading it again, and still same situation -- I don't see "Enable Debug Logging," only "Enable Component Specific Logging." I do see it on my computer (where I've also installed Kodi with the same setup), but I don't see it on the Fire TV stick, and also I don't get the script error on my PC, only going through the Fire TV stick.
Also, I had Isengard and your brilliant skin (truly mean that) before the big update where we had to re-setup our menu/submenus, and it didn't do this then, so it's only started since that point in time. I don't know if that helps pinpoint the issue, but it's something I noticed. Also, it only seems to happen with the first video and then doesn't recur until restarting Kodi.
Regarding debugging, would there be something corrupt in my setup, something I still might be missing, or maybe another method to access the debug log for you? By the way, I think you should be called Dr. Mike because this reminds me of the doctors I work for who have to diagnose problems, often through a process of elimination. hehe
Thanks again!

Add the folder you want to get backgrounds from to the
file manager (wiki).

In the menu you want it to appear in, select 'Add' to add a new menu item, next select 'Change Action' and then 'Custom Action >' (the last item in the list) and type 'System.LogOff'.
Ok so this could possible be a very silly question but here it goes.
So i was interested in using the Mr V Widgets v3 so i made the switch from the standard Aeon Nox to Silvo
My issue: I use a video addon called TwitchTv for watching video game streams and i created a custom menu for it however i have the widget set as follows:
Add-on>Video Add-on>TwitchTv>Games
But when i go to select the widget style all i have is Fanart and Square poster ..... no matter what i do these are the only option i get.
I want to set it to poster so it shows the cover of the games that are being streamed instead of Square poster or fanart.
Am i doing something wrong this is the final thing i need to complete my set up and it driving me mad as i had this in the Standard Aeon Nox
Any help appreciated thanks

There's a fair amount of guesswork as to what artwork will be available for a widget - if its not right you can manually set the artwork option. Edit
userdata (wiki)/addon_data/script.skinshortcuts/skin.aeon.nox.silvo.properties in your favourite text editor.
Each line in the file has four elements:-
['[menuname]', '[menu item]', '[property]', '[value]']
You're looking for an item where the [menuname] is "mainmenu", the [property] is "widgetPath" and the [value] starts with "plugin://plugin.video.twitch/". Once you've found it, find the corresponding line with the same [menu item] and the [property] of "widgetArt" and change its [value] to "Poster". Save it, and your main menu will be rebuilt next time you go to the home screen.
(Though please backup the skin.aeon.nox.silvo.properties file before you start editing - it's not really designed to be edited manually, and messing it up will cause Skin Shortcuts to be unable to build the menu...)

Are the System video settings correct? Is the display set to output 24hz or something cause that will effect the scrolling "smoothness" or perhaps you are using low powered device with the snow effect enabled. Not sure if snow causes that much of a performance dip but there are a lot of elements onscreen with different animations...

If you do not see enable debug logging then something is not right... I can only think of one other way to enable debug logging and that way could be easy, hard, or really hard depending on your SSH/SFTP and advancedsettings comfort level.
Before we get to that...
I would try re-installing script.toolbox from the add-on manager in case it is just a simple missing dependency.
If that does not help:
First, you will need a way to copy and write to the Kodi folders on your Fire stick... More info on that
here and if you need further help with that I suggest checking in the
android section and, if needed, asking for help from fellow Fire Stick users that would know more than I do.
Second, you would then need to create an
advancedsettings (wiki) file and follow
these instructions to enable debug logging.
Finally, please post a link to the log here manually or using the
Add-on:Kodi Log Uploader (wiki) and we can hopefully see what the problem is and find a solution

I would set up profiles personally - that's what we do in our house. The library is shared to keep things clean, but the "sources" vary. We have a master user which has everything on. We then created "Adults" and "Kids" based on this (duplicated as a starting point), and then simply removed the sources we didn't want them to have access to/delete and then amended the menu accordingly.
Setting up the Master profile with everything makes it so much easier. Anything else, just ask,
Hi Mike,
I found a bug in the wall view sorting. I have my Kid's movies sorted by title ascending, and I noticed they weren't in alphabetical order. I guessed that the sort methods were mislabeled and tried the other sort options until I found the one that did sort by title (Play count). Here are some screen shots showing what I mean.
Sort by Title (not sorting correctly):

Sort by play count (actually sorting by Title):

Here is my debug log, if it is of use to you:
xbmclog.com
Thanks.

That is a built in function so the same results should be happening in all views not just Wall. How are you entering the Kids section are you using smart playlists, nodes, something else?

Hi BobCratchett thank for the help
i have tried this now several times both with Kodi open and closed and each time the menu rebuilds but the view always revert back to Fanart or some times no widget at all will appear until i range the code back to fanart or square poster
This is the change I'm making
From this ['mainmenu', 'test', 'widgetArt', uā
Fanartā], to this ['mainmenu', 'test', 'widgetArt', uā
Posterā],
Am i doing it incorrect?
