Mike
How do I change to custom background am only getting repo as a option. Somebody suggested using file manager not sure how that would help.
Am using the isenguard version. Sorry if it dumb question
Thanks
Hi Mike,
i want to push this...
i have a question!
Under "media/new_pvr/epg-genres" there are only the files 0.png and genre-numbers.txt and the two subfolders "transparent" and "non-transparent".
For the pvr "DVB Viewer Recording Service" the "*.png"-Files has to be in the root folder, so directly in "media/new_pvr/epg-genres". So if you could copy the files with numbers (!, so 0.png, 288.png, 144.png, ...) from the folder "non-transparent" to the root folder "media/new_pvr/epg-genres", i could use epg-genre colours, too Wink
I would be very pleased if you could do that Wink
If you need any further information, just write me Wink
Thanks so much!

You have to edit the correct xml in the 1080i within the skin folder to make the changes work. The gui settings allways rewrite themselves.
Hi, Which are the correct xml files which need to be edited?
Thanks
Thanks Mike, you said "You can press enter/select while fullscreen to see the player controls and select the I button to show BigNoids custom info screen."
Do you have any idea why I do not have or SEE an "I-button"? I see the player control buttons...subtitle button....video settings button...but no "I".

Where is your folder for the background located? Your C drive, external hard drive etc..
File manager > add source > BROWSE> your folder location
@mikesilvo164:
I think I found a bug in DialogSeekbar.xml. It is the slider in the seekbar.
in line
107 and 108 there is
Code:
<textureslidernib colordiffuse="$VAR[ThemeLabelColor]">listselect_fo.png</textureslidernib>
<textureslidernibfocus colordiffuse="$VAR[ThemeLabelColor]">listselect_fo.png</textureslidernibfocus>
shouldn't that be
osd_slider_nib.png or
osd_slider_nibNF.png instead of
listselect_fo.png?
It is osd_slider_nib.png in AeonNox, btw
@mikesilvo164: Hi, Mike. I have one bug to report, along with two questions.
1. When Arial is used, the font of the main (vertical) menu is really small, and very difficult to read on tv screens.
2. When you hide the artwork in the playback info osd, the text layout stays identical. Wouldn't it make more sense to enlarge the text boxes (widen the plot info, for example, so as to have less scrolling?) when no artwork is selected?
3. I've noticed that all of my media uses up to four backgrounds that scroll. However, for some shows or films I have 5-10 images, some of which I've never seen in the skin. Is there a way to increase this limit?

It located on special://home
I understand your method but am not so sure why I need to add it as a source. Is that the only way to set a background. As before u just selected the menu option clicked set background an could navigate around your file structure.

Why? Because of a limitation in the Python api - if you've added anything to the file manager, that's all that will show up when using Python to browse for a file.
Is that the only way? No, you could also delete the other sources you've added to the file manager.
And to pre-empt the question that often follows:- Is there anything that can be done about it skin/script side, so that I don't have to add the source to the file manager? Skin side - No. Script side (script.skinshortcuts is the one that is ultimately showing the dialog) yes, probably, if I cared to spend a lot of time looking into it. But I've no plans to do that as in 99% of cases the people who have the issue are people who have added repo's that contravene this forums
piracy policy (wiki).
hi Bob
Cute reply ?
Am sure it would have be easier to just say delete your source list. It's also rude and ignorant of u to assume that because I had a source list it was associated with piracy after all it was created for other uses than piracy after all. .Thanks for sharing the rules of the forum with me I will check over them next time I ask a legitimate question in these forums.
It's a shame you can't be bothered as some genuine users do come across simple things like this and we are clearly not all as intelligent as you my friends so I will bow down and kiss your ring now oh might one.
Thank you for your insightful reply and have a great day sir
Regards
Not a cute reply, an absolutely genuine one. You asked why, I told you why. You asked if it was the only way, I gave you another way - and at no point have I said you
should delete your source list. And I have been asked as a result of people questioning why they need to add the source enough times if it could be worked around - I explained that it wouldn't be, without at any time saying that
you personally were using piracy add-ons, but that because the issue is often experienced because of them I won't look into a workaround (I'm the main developer of script.skinshortcuts, if you weren't aware). I'm sorry you've taken my reply in a bad way, and wish you every success with your future Kodi journey.
And please don't worry about kissing my ring as you're about to be put onto my ignore list
Hi Bob
Do you by any chance know how to make the links to backgrounds work on both pc and android?
Thanks

I presume you mean when you're copying the userdata folder from one system to the other? Assuming that the backgrounds are both accessible from the same path (best to use the
special protocol (wiki)), then go to
userdata (wiki)/addon_data/script.skinshortcuts/ and edit skin.aeon.nox.silvo.properties in your favourite text editor and change the paths there.
Please backup the file first as the file isn't designed to be manually edited and, if you get it wrong, it can lead to backgrounds disappearing or even the script being unable to build the menu and the best support I'll be able to offer you is to restore your backup or delete the file.
Thats brilliant ill try that later.
Thanks
Ryan
