What's the difference when using Artwork Beef exactly? I just tried it out and all it does is downloading additional or missing artwork... but I already have everything saved locally (including extrafanart for each tv show).
What exactly replaces the 'cache fanart' function here?
Well if the latest version you have is from 2016 then that is just not accurate. I have updated the Krypton branch 21 days ago and Leia has been updated multiple times over this past week alone...
The difference is significant because Artwork Downloader only created an Extrafanart folder and downloaded images to it. Skins then needed to access it by using IMHO crappy ways linking to that fanart folder. Artwork Beef does the same in regard to downloading the images if configured properly but also adds the images to Artwork DB so it skips the extra step of doing that manually by having to "Cache" after downloading. One step instead of two
I of course meant that the toolbox script didn't change since 2016. At least that's what I see on Git.
I'll try out Artwork Beef again then. The last time I tried it I still had to cache extrafanart manually somehow (using local artwork only).
It also created new artwork in my media folders which I didn't really wanted (seasonxy-thumb, clearlogo etc.) although I disabled everything in the settings.

I used SMB in the file manager to get it as a source. When you look at the code for the path in settings it's entered as NFS. It also won't pull the art from a local folder either. Noticed this on Android and Windows installs. Just trying to figure out if it's Kodi or a skin thang.

Hopefully fixed now but if you see any other issues please let me know as I am very tired ATM and could be missing something quite obvious that causes some other Home Fanart option to break...
Ok I'll try the update and see.
EDIT:
Tried the update from git. it's still not pulling the art...
EDIT 2:
All working now on Android and Windows. Dunno what changed it just started working. Probably something on this end...

And I'm still using Krypton 17.6 so all of the changes you did to Leia I can't take advantage of them...
Sorry but I am not "getting" it ATM... Change what? You just need to press "I" key or whatever mapped remote button you have chosen to toggle info and if you are using anything that needs special treatment like a touch device then you should not be using this skin. One day I may be able to test those kinds of usages but for now all that is supported is a remote due to my primary use and testing with a 10 foot interface. I will not be adding new features to Krypton. All new features are and will be limited to Leia. This is a necessity cause there are so few users who test all the updates and changes so I need as much time as possible to test them myself.

I of course meant to use the latest skin version from Git cause I have no control of script.toolbox and have never suggested anyone to ambiguously update a script. If I do not specify then you can and should assume I am only talking about the skin. If you aren't using the latest "
SKIN!!!" from Git then things will not be working as I have described.

Thanks.

Right now I THINK it's setup to pull backgrounds for ALL items (sub-menus and main menu items) from my NAS using smb. IF you want I can turn it around and see if NFS is working properly or not. Not a problem and I might just do that anyway later today.
Hello,
I was wondering if someone could please help.
In the skin settings menu there are 2 options (low, center) for setting the position of the main menu and parts (clock, date, etc). Id like to create addition options to select (bottom, top, etc). Could Mike or someone tell me which xml and line these options call too in the xml syntax?
Thanks
When playing music, artist slideshow and artist logo do not work. Also, when browsing my music in library view, extrafanart and logo do not appear.
Pretty sure I have all the settings right.
Included are links to my settings and debug log with additional info about the problem.

Maybe you want to adapt this for the other views and the alternative Episode-layout
Thx
PS: I have some other additions, which are adding Season- and Episodenr. in the PVR-xmls. Are you interested?
Added this option to Git but it needs some testing. You can enable the setting in Skin settings > Advanced.
You know the drill with PVR stuff. I can look into adding things that make sense to me so OFC I am interested but I won't add any old thing for the sake of adding it. FYI Leia is kinda in flux ATM so the current layout of PVR info can and most likely will change so if you have any ideas on what is missing just let me know
RL kept me busy, but here you go for v18:

1. Please add Art for streams to "Info" while playing a stream. It is there in main-menu, but is missing in "Info"
See screenshots 1 and 2
Ignore the logo and the timer in the lower right corner. Both are in the stream.
All changes here are running since 4 monts on my RPi3 with TVH PVR-backend, almost daily use.
2. I added some PVR-variables for later use:
https://pastebin.com/zm45jqUT
added e.g. Season and Episode-Nr. if they are supported by the PVR-backend
3. changed EPG: screenshots 3 and 4

4. added option to show only small EPG, when video is playing:
Includes_LiveTV.xml last few lines:

Hi...
I Have a question, is it possible to keep the Cd art and music info steady when playing Music and not fade after a few seconds. If possible how can i do this.
Thanks in advance for your help.
It all depends on what device you are using...kinda. The skin also tells you in a popup window the 1st time you play music how to activate it.
flhthemi,
Thanks for the response, sorry should have included the details of my system.
OS: Windows 7 64bit
Kodi v17.6 (Krypton)
Skin: Aeon Nox Silvo 6.0.13
Yea about the popups, I am not sure why i am not getting any of these popups. The only reason I know about them is because i ran into another issue with missing sources and when i searched here I saw Mike's post regarding popups. Please let me know the instructions
So you most likely have a keyboard attached. Play a song, while in play after the initial info clears from the screen prees the letter "I" (eye) info will stay until you tell it to leave! You can use this command as soon as it starts playing the music but I told eyou to do it this way so at least once you could sorta see it happen.

A EmbyCon user from us informed me about broken banner artworks for TV shows.
I've checked your skin and just want to inform you that you forgot to add the correct values to your variables.
See:

Wrong:
Code:

flhthemi,
Thank you so much, that worked. I was keep on looking in skin setting and the Music OSD settings. I hope you dont mind me asking another question.
I have a collection of Movie Sound tracks & Albums in Music. How can i make the background of each of the Movie Soundtrack to it appropriate movie fanart rather than artists images ..is there a settings for that in the skin, code that i can put in? .. Just like how the movies are displaying its fanart. If that is not possible will i be able to show an image inside each folder like the fanart.jpg as background, just like how it shows CDArt from folder.jpg.
I have artist slideshow and CdArt Manager installed too..
Thanks for your help again.

I don't know of another way to do that other than the last line of your question (in bold). Someone else more knowledgeable than I would have to answer the first part of the question.
To set the fanart for each movie/album:
Rather than spoon feed you the answer I think you will learn how to do this if I give you a hint. When a movie title is highlighted you can use the "C" key to open what is known in Kodiland as a "Context Menu". From there you have several options, one of which will be "Information". Select that and I would be willing to bet you can figure out from there how to add the fanart you want for each movie/album. Before you start this you will need to have the fanart images either all stored in one folder/central location, but I think it's better to put the art in the same folder as the album.

I noticed some issues and I think I have fixed them so if you are still having issues hopefully the latest from Git will work... Hopefully

sualfred Thanks for posting but I am a little confused here...
I could be very wrong but I was under the impression that
[tvshow.art] was for the parent container. I do not use banners in any areas that should need that. According to the wiki $INFO[ListItem.Art(banner)] should work just fine for TV Shows.
I googled and read the posts pertaining to this and, according to the user, the changes did not help solve their issue and that everything was also working just fine until recently.
From that same thread I got the feeling that this was changed for the EmbyCon addon not long ago and I think those changes are not the correct approach. In my testing for TV Shows using stock Kodi v18, $INFO[ListItem.Art(tvshow.banner)] returns blank for me. However the $INFO[ListItem.Art(banner)] does not so...
Please advise.
Thanks.
