mikeSiLVO is correct, animated artwork will not work across networks. It needs to be local to the Kodi install. See here...

But I am seeing discart for sets without skin.info.services. Or are you referring to something else?

You see discart if there is one attached to the set but if not I fallback to the first disc in the set so that is what I am referring to.
I am trying to add as much of the Movie Set stuff in the skin without using a script/add-on to display that info anymore.

But that is already happening in my library. Not all my sets have specific set discart, and most sets are falling back to the discart of the first movie in the set. I have 115 sets and 19 of them do not display discart for some reason. Only thing in common I can see is that most are recent additions to my library, say in the last 4 months. But then there are two sets like Harry Potter that have been there for years and discart is missing there. So it is pretty much working for me without the addon except for those 19 sets. And I guess that is related to the missing addon.

I don't see how that is possible...
Before I just changed it now, it was either $INFO[ListItem.Art(discart)] or if that was empty the first movie in set using skin.info.service $INFO[Window(Home).Property(SkinInfo.Set.Movie.1.Art(discart))]
Did you manually set the discart for the movie collection to one in the set?
EDIT: After you have had the time to test without Skin Info installed the plots will have a toggle to prefer summary. Will push it to Git sometime soon.

Nope.
Maybe something to do with my advancedsettings.xml entry?
xml:
<moviesetextraart>
<arttype>animatedposter</arttype>
<arttype>animatedfanart</arttype>
<arttype>banner</arttype>
<arttype>clearart</arttype>
<arttype>clearlogo</arttype>
<arttype>discart</arttype>
<arttype>fanart1</arttype>
<arttype>fanart2</arttype>
...
<arttype>keyart</arttype>
<arttype>landscape</arttype>
<arttype>poster1</arttype>
<arttype>poster2</arttype>
...
</moviesetextraart>
or maybe Artwork Beef is adding it?

Don't think so on both counts but not sure if Artwork Beef does that by accident cause I've never seen a setting for that.
Mind posting a pic of the Change Artwork screen where the discart is the first movie in the set. Curious what it is listed as but if it is discart then something added that to the artwork table...
Butter fingers. hit enter by mistake
If I go to Movie Set>Context Menu>Manage>Choose Art, the discart is already loaded. I have not done that. Artwork Beef?? And that disk in the image is from the first movie, not the collection discart.
If Artwork Beef is doing that then it has to be by accident.
Something set that as the discart and if it wasn't you then that is a weird one...
Never had accidental artwork added for any sets.
EDIT: Actually I think I have had the first movie be set as some set artwork by Artwork Beef before...
It's late where I am and I just forgot until right now. Usually it is poster but I might not have noticed the discart
I am fairly certain it was Artwork Beef.
I looked at the dates of the sets that did not have the discart, and those sets were added from late July onwards. The two long term sets (Harry Potter) I removed from the library to adjust storage and added them back during this period.
Around that date of late July, movie set scanning was broken in Artwork Beef and only fixed a couple of weeks ago...
https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid...pid2885410
I think this fix has now changed the loading of discart.
Might be UMS cause there is no scraping for set artwork and it might just add everything enabled in its settings when it adds the set. Like it doesn't add an empty poster but shows the first in set poster until manually changed...
I don't have Artwork Beef run auto, I manually select all artwork after scraping new items. Do you have Artwork Beef pull artwork automatically?
I don't use UMS for normal scraping, only for testing when necessary. I have switched to the Python scraper for TMDB
All my artwork is local. Artwork Beef is only used to cache movie set artwork from local files, which Kodi cannot do yet. Not until v19.
A few minutes ago I ran Artwork Beef to see if I can replicate the discart loading, but it won't load it. I am looking for an older version of Artwork Beef, from before the break, to test with and confirm, but I cannot find one. I'll ask rmrector when he returns.
I wonder if other users have movie set discart pre-loaded in Choose Art.
Looking to remove the reliance on scripts for the things that I can so...
I never liked that Kodi scraped all of an artists discography and not just the albums that you have so I used skin.info.service to show the correct album count based on what you actually had.
An example would be 2Pac, I have only one album but it would show 19.
I don't like that personally and since I had to change the way it works I figured I would re-design the Discography section of DialogMusicInfo while I was at it:
Design is not set in stone and I could make the albums bigger but then it would be less per page...

mikeSiLVO : Thanks for the replies on the animated artwork, it probably is a NAS issue, I tried adding the Movie library to the File Manager, like you do for backgrounds, that didn't work. Will test more with that later, sure it is something on my end and thats way to much art to try to be moving right now...
@
mikeSiLVO concerning the discography, I wouldn't go any bigger on the albums personally. Would you be able to give the user a choice?

mikeSiLVO Hey Mike, since you keep plugging away I figured I would go ahead and let you look at the snow stuff I did for you to look at. I used the files from the last Git so you can copy them easily to see what ya think. All the image are public domain. Done one for fall, spring, winter and xmas.
I couldn't figure out how to do a path, so just radio buttons and am sure you could make it prettier as far as the code. Didn't know how to attach zip file on here, or even if you can, so linked to g-drive
Test Files for Falling Objects
If you like, I might can do more later, if not, it sure won't hurt my feelings...haha. Wish I could have figured out a way to use a path way maybe instead.
