After searching the net and this forum for quite a while...

Is there a way to search directly in the sources of video / music / photos?
What I am desperately looking for is a way to search directly for filenames in kodi sources rather than for entries in the Kodi Database.

Maybe I've asked wrong. Is there a plugin to directly search in videos- > files using ie. regex?
or alternatively scraping all the not-founds into the database - regardless if it matches anything in tvdb / moviedb or not - just the filenames?

you could use a playlist and search the path or filename

well, the content of these directories is changing all the time, this isn't an option - but thanks

what would be even better, is a filter-as-you-type option in videos -> files...
