Sorry no, I haven't seen anything like this. Do you mean the second time you use netflix it doesn't work?
What OS are you running on?

One thing to try, in Kodi system settings there's usually a setting which says how long Kodi keeps the audio device active, it could help setting this to 0.
Kodi might be holding the sound card and preventing chrome getting access to it.
It's in Settings->System->Audio Output->keep audio device alive

I used the kodibuntu for install, so ubuntu. And yes sometimes it does not have sound the second time I use it, especially if I close it before the video starts playing. I already have the keep audio device set to zero because it would take a while for the audio to start with the first occurrence.

I have no clue why I'm not even seeing this addon in the list... I've even installed other repos that are supposed to have it and it is absent in them as well.. Everything else is properly functioning however....

Appreciate any ideas as to what might cause this.

I have the same Problem! Installed Coronas addon but the netflixbmc addon is not listed. Forcing refresh etc does not help Sad
I downloaded your addon as ZIP from github, but it could not be installed. Can i just ZIP your files from your repo and install that as zip?

Android (firetv)
kodi on Prometheus, nothing but script failures...
Gave it a quick try last night and everything seemed to work fine. My setup is Arch Linux + Helix + Chrome stable running on an Intel NUC.

Arch pkg only creates a google-chrome-stable symlink so I created a google-chrome one and was good to go after that.

Have no audio but that's a simple fix (alsa vs pulseaudio issue like terpstra mentioned on page #4).

Thank you for your work on this!
I believe I'm having the same issue as jbourke, log attached here

http://pastebin.com/ZC5uxA2q

I can log in ok, but all the folder contents are empty. I'm a reasonably experienced python dev so if you can point me in the right direction I can submit a patch for the issue.

NetfliXBMC v 1.3.11
Kodi (14.0 Git:ad747d9)
Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS, kernel: Linux x86 64-bit version 3.13.0-29-generic

Cheers,
Andrew.

Android (firetv)

As I tell everyone else like this,
Quote:As per the first post, this plugin only works on mac/windows/linux. Android will likely never be supported, because you can't watch netflix in chrome.

Please post a kodi.log of the errors, can't help much otherwise.
Some more information about your platform, os would be useful, although I'm guessing you're referring to http://kodinow.com/ (I've never heard of it before)

That last line in your log is a normal warning, I had to disable cert checking a while back as it was failing with some of the redirects in place (ie I'm requesting www.netflix.com and it's replying from login.netflix.com)
I'm not sure why things are coming up blank sorry.

Is this a new install, or was it working previously. Try a reset of cache from the settings page perhaps?
Also try turning on debug in netflix settings, then the log should print out all the url's accessed. They can then be tried directly in a browser to hopefully show the problem.

This is a new install, although I did have the previous Netflix plugin installed previously. That one didn't work either, but I didn't look at the logs.

I visited a number of sub pages such as TV Shows/Genres and Movies/Genres etc. The only URLs in the logs are

* https://www.netflix.com/Login
* https://www.netflix.com/WiGenre?agid=83
* https://www.netflix.com/WiHome

The links seem to work fine in a browser. Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help diagnose the problem.
Interestingly I can search for titles and view them without any problems.
I installed stock Kodibuntu and NetfliXBMC addon and I have a somewhat similar problem. When I get logged straight into Kodi session and I fire up NetfliXBMC I have video streaming but no audio. Everything else in Kodi has audio.

Now if I log out of Kodi session, log back into Lubuntu session, start Netflix on Chrome browser I get audio back.

This is where it gets weird. If I fire up Kodi within Lubuntu session and start NetfliXBMC I get typical Netflix error that another browser may be open. I close the previous browser tab, refresh Chrome and I have audio back within Kodi. I have tried closing this new Chrome tab, restart NetfliXBMC and I have persistently fine audio.

Can somebody explain what is going on?

I would appreciate any help in configuring NetfliXBMC such that audio works first time when I boot into Kodi session.
Sorry corona just realised yesterday that chrome launcher does not work with Android. What a pitty Sad
Thanks for your work, i habe to find an Android workaround.

Most likely Kodibuntu is configured to use ALSA and Chrome is configured to use pulseaudio. So when you launch NetfliXBMC, Kodi has exclusive access to the audio device via ALSA.

Your Lubuntu session is probably using pulseaudio and kodi will use pulseaudio by default if it's running.

No idea about this.

Well you can read all about ALSA vs. pulseaudio and their interaction in the FAQ.

Ok I installed an updated version. Seems the problem is in Chrome launcher. Thanks.
