Problem 1. FIXED.
Kodi crashes mostly instantly on start up, starts after a few tries!

SOLUTION: When problem 2 was fixed, Kodi don't crash anymore. Seems like Problem 2 was the cause for problem 1.

This is a fresh install. was no existing ~/.xbmc/ or ~/.kodi/

Problem 2, SOLUTION FOUND.
When Kodi starts the menu item Pictures is selected and I can't move left or right to another menu item. I can move down and quit Kodi. Managed to do some tricks to start a movie, then it constantly rewinds!

SOLUTION: The solution was to disable joystick in guisettings.xml
Make sure Kodi is not running. Then change "<enablejoystick default="true">true</enablejoystick>" to "<enablejoystick default="false">false</enablejoystick>" in "~/.kodi/userdata/guisettings.xml".

Please edit .kodi/userdata/guisettings.xml and disable joystick.

Does that work?

I change "<enablejoystick default="true">true</enablejoystick>" to "<enablejoystick default="true">false</enablejoystick>" in "~/.kodi/userdata/guisettings.xml", but when I run kodi it is set back to true and therefore it did not help.

Make sure to do that when kodi is stopped

Correction: Kodi no longer crashes Big Grin Seems like Problem 2 was the cause for problem 1.

Hello guys I have a thinkpad t42 laptop with some radeon 7500 and installed linux mint xfce with lxde desktop. I tried also installing kodi and I get this: after it show the start screen it closes.
Below you have the crash log but more I don't know I have little knowledge of linux systems.

Hope you can point a solution as I like Kodi very much !

Please don't bump old threads. We don't support your outdated GPU - use the forum search to see howto overwrite the GL version. Remember this is not supported at all.
