hi ther i have upto date version on my laptop that is running faultless but the version on my appletv is no good is there a way i can copy the files etc from laptop onto apple?

sorry i was menat to say, i have a fully working custom setup on my laptop with ltest kodi etc, my appletv2 has crashed and im having to reboot it, i was wondering if i can copy everything off the windows laptop onto the apletv

Yes, use the Backup add-on to backup the laptop version and then restore on the ATV2.
