Hi, I'm totally new to Kodi/XBMC and have a very basic question.
Is there an easy way to search for music title from a remote app running on a smartphone? I've tried several apps and none of them have a search function.
I understand I can use the raw remote function to navigate the onscreen cursor and send texts to accomplish this, but I have just an audio system plus a small laptop running Kodi with music-only library without a large TV so that function is useless for me sitting 15 ft from the laptop.
What am I missing here?

I use Yatse for Android and it's awesome!

It will search Movies, TV and Music on the smartphone and you can play them from the search results screen.

If upgrade within the app, you can stream library content to your smartphone too.

Yes 100% agree...Yatse is absolutely perfect. A related thread can be found in forums, too.

But only usable with android based smartphones
