As a follow-up on my other Tvheadend related suggestion that I posted for Team Kodi here http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=214948

For those who don't know, the Tvheadend project fully split from the HTS project and software suite a long time ago, and Tvheadend is now only called "Tvheadend" as its own project.

See https://tvheadend.org

Another reason to rename is that on-top of that the original HTS project, (which was hosted at http://www.lonelycoder.com), have since also been renamed from "HTS Showtime" to simply "Showtime" as well as moved to a new website domain, which means that no one actually uses the "HTS" name for Tvheadend any longer.

Anyway, probably time to get the respective PVR client addon in Kodi for Tvheadend renamed to just "Tvheadend" too? If it hasn't already?
I just read that the PVR client addon in Kodi for it might have already been renamed now or might be soon sone anyway, or I'm I wrong in thinking that?

See http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=214937

If not, why keep the old "HTS" part of the name? Should it not be enough to only keep the addon-id but still change the published name of the addon?
+1 for this. HTS is a leftover from previous versions.
I'll look into it, I don't think there's a problem with changing the addon name (as long as the internal name remains the same).
Also very relevant in the installer. When trying to install a 'minimal' installation with the tvheadend-plugin, you just have to know 'pvr.hts' stands for tvheadend, otherwise you're bound to make mistakes.
+1 for renaming the PVR client addon and installer.

This subforum has already been renamed I see.
all users will have to re-do their settings if we rename pvr.hts to pvr.tvh, so we're not going to change the add-on id. installer should use the friendly name from the xml instead of using the id.
