Full Version: Amazon Fire TV Stick - Can't mount an SMB share from Mac

All is working well with Kodi, but I can't get it to mount a shared folder from my Mac. I shared it with SMB, and set Everyone for Read permissions. I tried adding a video source and specifying all combinations of smb://erics-air/Videos, smb://erics-air, smb://192.168.0.101/Videos, etc, and just get error messages like "Operation not permitted" or "No data available". I also tried browsing, and going to "Windows Network (SMB)" and I get "Error 2: share not available". I tried "Add network location..." and entered the IP for the server name, "Videos" for the Shared folder, and my Username and Password, but get "Connect timed out".

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Eric
Same issue here. The only thing I've found that (partially) works is installing SMBup on the mac. Unfortunately, this type of share does NOT appear to work with my windows xmbc box, but it did work perfectly with the fire tv stick.
