Hello...

After upgrading to 14.0 and 14.1 and I am unab le to play any 4K Videos from my Drive on an S802 Box.

Here's what I've done.

I have changed the hardware acceleration to libstagefright only, which allows me to play all other formats just fine. However, as soon as I playa 4K video, the whole box crashes and restarts itself and goes back tot he menu.

When I change it to Media Codec and AM Codec the video file starts, but I get no Video and only Audio Plays.

Is anyone else having this issue?

If so, please PM me.

Thanks...
I'm not even sure if any v14 build has proper 4k support in Android. I'm sure it shouldn't crash, but it probably won't play correctly without using a nightly build (wiki).
4K for amlogic is in Helix (HEVC is in nightly), but only with amlcodec. I guess libstagefright is crashing in the fw itself.

The "no video" effect with amlcodec is the usual permission issue.
You can ask your vendor to fix their firmware (yeah, right Wink ) or look around for supsersu related threads.

Note that supersu/rooted permission hacks will be removed in Kodi 15.
