Full Version: Selective Use of Subtitles?

Hi all,

Rather a random question Smile

Nearly all of my movies have an additional same language (English) subtitle file stored with them. By default I have subtitles disabled as it can get annoying always having the text on the screen for the same language you are listening to.

Some of my movies have subtitles only for non-English speaking parts.

Is it possible (or do-able in the future) for example to preconfigure a particular movie to have its subtitles auto enabled when played but other movies will still use the global default setting of disabled?

Hope the query makes sense.

Cheers all.
Ahh... that looks like it could do the job.

Cheers Ned
Unless I'm totally misreading your post - what you really need is to set the flag in your file (presuming it is an mkv) for the relevant subtitle track, to 'forced'. When globally disabled, all other tracks will not display, but 'non-english speaking parts' will.
I have a button on my remote mapped to enable/disable subtitles. Comes in handy once in a while.
