Resume seems to not work properly on Shield/Android compared to the Windows.

Default select action = Resume
Works fine on both windows and Shield (both 15.2 and 16 beta4)

Default select action = Choose
For a not started movie the menu looks like this:
Windows/Shield: 1 Play, 2 Show more info, 3 More...

For an earlier started movie
Windows: 1. Resume from, 2 Start from beginning, 3 Show more information, 4 More...
Shield: 1 Play, 2 Show more info, 3 More...(NOK)
If I select More on the shield I get the additional meny with resume as item 2 (actually there is no text - it is just an empty selection - at least with swedish menues)

This applies for both Kodi 15.2 and 16b4
Is the latest build in the HD passthrough thread stable to use and is it beta4

Can anyone tell me if you can have both the release version (15.2) and Beta (16) of kodi installed on the shield at the same time?

Not possible unfortunately. 16 beta is as stable as 15 imo though.

Not for me. Choppy video and no way to adjust frame rates or resolution, of course that is the same in 15.2.

Weird, framerate switch definitely works for me (it's very obvious as my poor tv takes ages to adjust)
Is there a new version of 16 beta available?
Hi there, I have upgraded from an M8 to the Nvidia shield tv.

Kodi works well on my m8, but on the shield, none of my addons work? does anyone else have this problem.

I have uninstalled, reinstalled but still no addon works. On my phone, its fine. So a little confused and also quite disappointed

Any ideas anyone?

Samba is a poor implementation of SMB/CIFS

My point exactly.

I had really choppy DVDrips after upgrading from 15.2 to 16b4. I solved it by disabling the new hardware acceleration "mediacodec (surface)".
Software decoding seems to be the most stable onr (at least for me that dont use 4k).

16b4 seems as stable as 15.2, but the upgrade process was not a nice experience (first start after update = crach, second start = no text in GUI, third start = back to default skin) I am using Aoen skin.

Which has nothing to do with the OPs issue since they weren't having issues with SMB/Samba specifically. The problem was with Kodi timing out due to the time it takes for the NAS to wake up.

And switching to NFS is not an option for all people/NASs, since like with my WD EX4, WD removed NFS support.

And in that case you just need to add:

Code:
<samba>
  <clienttimeout>10</clienttimeout>
</samba>

Just change "10" to something higher.

Samba is a poor implementation of SMB/CIFS
Which is why it's used in many enterprises as an improvement in both performance and reliability cf windows server I guess.
Hey Guys,

Playing one of my Videos and so far it is the only one but I am getting a pink screen with just the audio. I think it may be a vc-1. Is there a way to fix this?

Using Kodi 15.2 from play store
