Maybe all this 3:2 pulldown video judder you Septics have put up with over the years has scrambled your vision and rewired your brain Wink Wink

This is the year 2015 and a proper quality Kodi video playback device Needs to playback 24p video perfectly synced. Anything less and it should be labeled a Toy and tossed into the Android playpen !

If you can tell the difference between 23.976 and 24, then you probably need to save some money and buy a new TV. Even the so called 3:2 pulldown judder can be fixed with TV settings (although with my main TV, it introduces a whole new set of issues).
Here is the relevant discussion and detailed explanation by Noggin who knows more about TV Refresh rates and 24p than all of us put together.
You may like to educated youself about why 23.976fps displayed at 24Hz IS a problem:

And here is the relevant quote about why 23.976fps (24p) on Android OS based platforms basically sucks big time.

Well, we are speaking about sub $200, general purpose, Android boxes here.
For $1000 and even less, you can get a perfect linux or Windows Kodi box.

If you want pure Kodi, Android will probably never be the os of choice.
Still no news this morning of Shield Android TV, guess more news may arrive when the US wakes up...
Still another 4.5hrs until IO kicks off.

I know this is Kodi and not Netflix, but the Netflix Android TV app was just updated to be 4K compatible.

What's New
Netflix for Android TV now supports:
- Dolby Digital Plus pass-through (on compatible devices only)
- Ultra HD (on compatible devices only, premium plan required)
- Application backgrounding
Thanks for the info, interesting
Google I/O can't wait.
Well just a fleeting mention of Android TV during the Google I/O. I dont know if they will share anything on Day 2.
There is a gaming piece on at 9pm UK time so maybe then.

The remote is $50. Expensive. It doesn't even have a number pad for quickly selecting live TV channels.

I did order two 16gb units from amazon.
ordered the 16GB version just now. One day shipping, hope to receive it by tomorrow night!

YIPPEEEE!!! Smile

You can supposedly use a harmony remote with it. I think I had read that somewhere.
just ordered the pro model through amazon... gotta wait till june 12th..... This is going to replace my fireTV!! Anyone know if we need to root this to install kodi? Also ordered the remote as the headphone jack is kinda nice with it.
Available for ordering from Nvidia online store as well:

Ordered a 16GB version; should have it Saturday. So, for Kodi, I assume best to just install latest 15 beta 1 APK (or nightly)? And, the TVHZ app Koying mentioned couple pages back.
