Still getting black screen.have gone back to factory reset and started from there .went to xbmc.org/.org.then green android clicked on it,it said it was downloading for one second nothing else.went back to aps clicked on xbmc and it went through first run install and back to aps.when I clicked on xbmc again just black screen.. Would really appreciate some help,I am sure there is an answer out there.
In this kind of situation the easiest thing to try first is completely uninstalling XBMC/Kodi (or both) from the box. Note that this will reset all of your settings if you have any, so you might not want to try this as a first step. Then just reinstall the current Kodi stable version (which should be v14.1) from
http://kodi.tv/download/
If it still doesn't work then we'll need more details about your situation, like what kind of device you have, if Kodi has ever worked on it, etc.
